Software QA Engineer for Cloud Services

Millions of users worldwide rely on Bitdefender products to protect their digital lives. Behind every release, there is a strong quality mindset ensuring reliability, performance, and security at scale.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who treats quality as an engineering discipline, not a checkbox. Someone analytical, structured, automation-driven, proactive, and comfortable owning testing decisions and thinking systemically about product behavior, integration risk, and user-facing impact.

If you enjoy understanding systems deeply, challenging assumptions, and building reliable validation strategies — we’d like to meet you.

What You’ll Do

• Own the quality of services delivered by the Platform Cloud Services team
• Design and execute testing strategies with focus on cross-service validation and user-facing behavior
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Developers to clarify requirements and identify risks early
• Create, maintain, and optimize automated test suites (API and service-level focus)
• Ensure high regression reliability and stable smoke suites before release
• Monitor service stability and proactively identify potential production risks
• Investigate production issues and validate fixes with a strong root-cause mindset
• Contribute to improving internal QA tools, frameworks, and processes
• Maintain clear documentation and traceability in issue tracking and test management systems
• Bring a quality-first perspective in design and refinement discussions

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for engineers who combine structured thinking with curiosity and ownership.

You should

• Have experience in QA for cloud/distributed services (API-focused experience is essential)
• Understand system architecture and service interactions — not just local component testing
• Be comfortable with automation testing and writing maintainable test code
• Demonstrate strong analytical and logical thinking
• Understand system architecture and service interactions at a high level
• Be confident working in Agile environments
• Be able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Show attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture

Technical experience that matters

• API testing (manual & automated)
• Automation frameworks (Node.js / Mocha or similar)
• CI/CD integration principles
• Linux basics
• Issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail or similar)

What Makes You Stand Out

• You think beyond happy paths and actively explore edge cases
• You challenge ambiguous requirements instead of working around them
• You understand the difference between "did we build what we said" and "does the product work for users"
• You improve existing automation instead of just adding new tests
• You see testing as an engineering discipline, not a checklist
• You care about maintainability, scalability, and long-term quality
• You're comfortable owning your testing decisions and explaining them to developers and POs
• You leverage modern tools — including AI-assisted development tools — to improve efficiency, generate ideas, analyze logs, refine test coverage, and accelerate delivery while maintaining critical thinking

We value engineers who use technology intelligently — not blindly.

What We Offer

• Exposure to high-impact cloud services used globally
• A technically strong and collaborative engineering team
• Opportunities to shape automation frameworks and testing strategy
• The freedom to experiment with modern tools and AI-assisted workflows
• Continuous learning and development opportunities
