Software Engineering Intern - Telco Platform (Brno, Czech Republic)

Red Hat Ecosystem Engineering is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join the Telco Platform and Partner Workloads group. You will be part of a globally distributed team responsible for enabling the Telco partner ecosystem, driving adoption of Red Hat technologies and platforms, as well as promoting cloud computing best practices.

We are a development centric team focused on developing Telco features for OpenShift, codifying industry and standard cloud computing best practices, and certifying complex 5G Cloud-Native Network Functions. As a part of our team, you will collaborate with a wide variety of Red Hat development, solution architecture, and business units across CTO, Engineering, Customer Experience & Engagement, as well as directly with our strategic partners and open source communities. To be successful in this role, you will need to have motivation, curiosity, passion for problem solving, and knowledge in Containers, Kubernetes, open source software development, and Telecom technologies.

At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. What you will do:

• Be part of the platform and workload team
• Participate in the daily planning and get on going tasks from development backlog and/or tech debt reduction and bugs fixing
• Get familiar with the development lifecycle end to end flow and build tools/bots which will assist in expediting it.

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
• Working knowledge of written and spoken English
• Software development experience in a Linux/RHEL environment
• Knowledge in Kubernetes and container technologies
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies, standards and practices
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, able to effectively explain complex technical concepts and efficiently summarize information

The following are also considered a plus:

• Knowledge or experience in building CI/CD systems, Behavior Driven Development of test and automation frameworks, QE positive/negative testing, chaos engineering
• Contribution in open source communities, active involvement in CNCF work groups
• Knowledge of Telecom infrastructure and networks, 5G Core/RAN architecture & protocols, 3GPP standards, O-RAN, Mobile Edge Computing, SDN/NFV

Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your git.hub account), and extracurricular activities.

Please apply for a maximum of three internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
