Overview

As a Python Software Engineer in Investment Technology, you build data processing, workflow, and analytical tools that support investment research, data modelling, and portfolio construction. You work within a global team delivering fast, reliable software with tangible impact on the investment business. You’ll contribute to a cloud-native stack on AWS, collaborating with cross-functional partners to refine products and mentor teammates. This role offers hands-on engineering, architectural impact, and opportunities to drive positive technology change.

Responsibilities

Write clean Python code to create reusable components and packages
Develop cloud-first solutions with AWS
Refine and evolve the platform in response to business needs
Collaborate with business users to produce maintainable Python solutions
Coach and develop junior engineers to promote best practices

Key requirements

3+ years of Python software development in an enterprise environment
Experience with cloud and serverless services (AWS AppSync, Lambda, DynamoDB)
Experience building software solutions in Financial Services
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Strong knowledge of Python standard libraries and popular third-party packages
Understanding of data structures and data transformation methods
Experience with Agile (Scrum), DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Git/GitHub
Ability to engage credibly with business and technical users at all levels
