Builds next-generation simulation and training software for defence, aerospace, and homeland security applications — designing distributed simulation systems, scenario generation tools, and 3D visualization interfaces. Day-to-day work spans C++, C#, Java, and/or Python development, simulation standards (HLA/DIS), sensor and command-and-control integration, and testing and validation.
We are looking for a Software Engineer – Simulation Systems to join our team in developing next-generation simulation and training solutions for defence, aerospace, and homeland security applications.
In this role, you will design, develop, integrate, and test high-performance simulation software supporting mission planning, training, operational analysis, and system evaluation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver realistic, scalable, and reliable simulation solutions.
Design and develop simulation software using C++, C#, Java, and/or Python.
Develop simulation models, scenario generation tools, and visualization applications.
Design and implement distributed simulation systems using networking protocols and simulation standards.
Integrate simulation solutions with command-and-control, sensor, and operational systems.
Perform software development, debugging, testing, verification, and validation.
Apply object-oriented design and software engineering best practices.
Develop and maintain software design documents, test specifications, and technical documentation.
Support system integration, customer demonstrations, trials, and deployments.
Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, verification, and other engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Hands-on software development experience using one or more of C++, C#, Java, or Python.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.
Experience with source control systems, preferably Git.
Good knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP and UDP.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Experience in simulation systems, modelling & simulation, or digital twin technologies.
Knowledge of HLA (High Level Architecture), DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation), or other distributed simulation architectures.
Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, MATLAB/Simulink, or other visualization/simulation technologies.
Experience developing real-time or high-performance software applications.
Exposure to defence, aerospace, autonomous systems, mission systems, or training/simulation solutions.
Experience integrating software with sensors, command-and-control systems, or other operational systems.
