Software Engineer (Senior, Staff)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer (Senior, Staff) based in Brazil.

This is a high-impact senior engineering opportunity focused on building consumer AI products used by millions of people worldwide.
You’ll work directly with executive leadership and a small, highly autonomous team, with minimal layers between ideas and execution.
You’ll own meaningful product features end to end, from shaping ambiguous concepts to delivering polished experiences to users.
The role combines strong software engineering with product judgment, design intuition, and a deep focus on user outcomes.
You’ll move quickly when appropriate, while having the autonomy to slow down and think deeply when a problem requires it.
Agentic engineering, AI coding tools, and modern development practices are encouraged as part of the everyday workflow.
This is an ideal role for a senior or staff-level engineer who thrives on ownership, ambiguity, first-principles thinking, and measurable product impact.

• Own product features end to end, from early ideas and problem definition through implementation, launch, and iteration.

• Work directly with senior leadership to determine what should be built, why it matters, and how it should be delivered.

• Translate ambiguous ideas and evolving requirements into concrete technical and product solutions without waiting for every detail to be defined.

• Challenge product requirements and PRDs when necessary, weighing engineering investment against user and business value.

• Take ownership of complete product surfaces rather than isolated technical components or small roadmap increments.

• Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, product stakeholders, and other team members to unblock work and maintain momentum.

• Apply strong product and design judgment to ensure features are intuitive, polished, and aligned with user needs.

• Incorporate new development tools, AI coding assistants, and agentic engineering techniques to improve speed and effectiveness.

• Make pragmatic technical decisions that prioritize shipping valuable experiences while maintaining appropriate quality and reliability.

• Continuously evaluate and improve features based on real-world user feedback and product outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience building and shipping consumer products that have reached significant numbers of real users.

• Strong track record of owning and delivering complex features end to end rather than focusing primarily on incremental improvements or refactoring.

• Previous experience in a founding engineer, early-stage startup, or similarly high-autonomy environment is strongly valued.

• Strong software engineering skills combined with genuine enthusiasm for coding and modern, AI-assisted or agentic engineering workflows.

• Ability to use available tools and technologies creatively to accelerate development and solve problems effectively.

• Strong product thinking and the ability to understand the broader impact of engineering decisions on users and the product.

• Excellent design intuition and visual/product taste, with the ability to identify when an experience feels wrong before being explicitly told.

• First-principles approach to problem solving, with a willingness to challenge established practices when a better solution exists.

• Comfortable working without complete specifications and making sound decisions in ambiguous situations.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to write, discuss, and challenge product specifications.

• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

• High ownership, independence, and reliability, with the ability to take responsibility for a problem and drive it through to completion.

• Ability to balance speed and experimentation with the quality expected of a finished consumer product.

Benefits

• Competitive compensation.

• Fully remote work with flexibility across time zones.

• Flexible working schedule.

• Generous vacation policy.

• Unlimited access to the latest AI coding assistants.

• Opportunity to work directly with senior leadership in a small, highly autonomous engineering team.

• Direct opportunity to influence products used by millions of people worldwide.

• Ability to see the impact of your work reach users within months rather than years.

• Opportunity to push the boundaries of applied AI in a consumer product environment.

• Low-bureaucracy culture with substantial ownership and freedom in how you approach your work.
