We are currently recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer with strong Python development experience to join a major financial services organisation in Dublin.
This is a long-term contract opportunity working on full software development lifecycle projects, from initial design and development through to implementation and ongoing enhancement.
The successful candidate will have experience developing complex applications within a financial services or investment banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain software solutions using Python
- Taking ownership of projects across the full software development lifecycle
- Developing and maintaining robust, scalable software solutions
- Work closely with other Software Engineers, technical teams and stakeholders
- Develop clean, scalable and maintainable code
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Contribute to the full software development lifecycle
- Work within an Agile development environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience
- Good understanding of software development principles and best practices
- Experience working with APIs, databases and application integrations
- Experience with version control, ideally Git
- Comfortable working within Agile/DevOps environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Financial services experience would be beneficial but is not essential
