Why This Organisation

If you want to work somewhere that puts human intellect and collaboration at the heart of everything it does, this is a role worth your attention. This is a specialist technology consultancy operating across complex, data-intensive environments, partnering with clients to solve their most demanding technical challenges.

Known for its no-ego, high-performance culture, this is a team that takes quality seriously without taking itself too seriously. It is not a business content to deliver the expected... it invests in its people, its tooling and its approach so that engineers can do their best work and shape how solutions are built and delivered.

The Role and What It Can Do For Your Career

This is an opportunity to join a skilled engineering team working on bespoke Python solutions for a diverse client base. You will work directly with clients on architecture and design decisions, meaning this is a role for someone who communicates as confidently as they code.

The career value here is significant. Direct client exposure, genuine autonomy and access to new technologies give you a breadth of practical experience that is hard to find in more siloed environments. You will have real influence over how solutions are built and delivered, and support to gain certifications as you grow. For a developer who wants to build things that matter rather than sit several layers removed from the client, this is the kind of opportunity that is hard to find.

The stack is Python, FastAPI and/or Flask, with PostgreSQL and strong SQL work at its core, automated testing through pytest, and exposure to a range of architectures, tools and frameworks as each project demands.

What you will need:

• 3+ years of Python development experience building back-end services
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI and/or Flask
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
• Experience with automated test frameworks, including pytest
• Comfortable manipulating complex datasets
• Based within commuting distance of Belfast City Centre (3 days on-site required)
• Experience working in a client-facing or consultancy environment is a plus
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) is a plus

Why You Should Apply Now

Client-facing Python roles with this level of genuine autonomy and technical influence do not come up often. Getting hands-on experience shaping architecture and design decisions directly with clients, early in your career, is an advantage that compounds quickly.

Salary £50,000. Hybrid working... 3 days in a modern Belfast City Centre office. This is an exclusive role through Ocho People and will not be advertised elsewhere.
