Software Engineer/ Java Developer

Job description

Do you want to build software that powers real-world technology - from energy systems and advanced manufacturing to automation and complex engineering solutions?

At DIS/CREADIS, you will work on technically complex projects where software interacts with physical systems, equipment, and advanced engineering platforms. Rather than developing purely digital products, you will help build solutions that are deployed in real industrial environments and make a tangible impact.

We are particularly looking for developers with strong experience in Java combined with curiosity for modern software technologies and complex technical environments.

Typical technologies include Java, Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, Git, containerisation, and modern backend architectures.

You will join a highly skilled engineering environment and collaborate closely with customers and multidisciplinary teams who value technical quality, knowledge sharing, and continuous development.

Your role

As a Software Engineer at DIS/CREADIS, you will work in a consultancy environment across different customers, industries, and technical challenges. Many of the projects involve software that interacts with hardware systems, industrial equipment, or complex engineering platforms.

Many of our client engagements run over several years, allowing you to take real ownership of solutions, contribute to long-term development, and see your work evolve in real production environments.

• Design and develop software solutions with Java as a core technology
• Develop backend systems, APIs, integrations, and scalable application components
• Contribute throughout the development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical decisions, and code reviews
• Work with modern development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and version control
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams when software interacts with hardware or complex systems
• Engage with customers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys technical depth, responsibility, and the variety that comes with consultancy work.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a software engineer with a strong technical foundation and a curiosity for solving complex engineering problems.

You bring:

• Experience in software development
• Strong experience with Java
• Experience with additional languages such as C#, Python, C++, or similar
• Familiarity with development tools and practices such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern development environments
• Understanding of software architecture principles and maintainable code design
• Interest in working in complex technical environments and learning new domains
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with customers or stakeholders
• A structured and proactive approach with the ability to adapt to different project environments

What we offer

At DIS/CREADIS, you will join an engineering consultancy built on technical excellence and strong professional collaboration.

You will work on diverse and meaningful customer projects across industries such as energy, automation, and advanced manufacturing, where software plays a key role in real-world systems.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of technical solutions, collaborate with experienced engineers, and continuously develop your technical expertise across technologies and domains.

The environment is professional, supportive, and knowledge-driven - a place where you can deepen your Java expertise while growing into a trusted technical specialist or consultant depending on your ambitions.
