Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a hands-on, curious Software Engineer Intern who wants to see how AI becomes reality - not just through models, but through system thinking. You’ll work across AI integrations, backend services, and automation workflows that power our agentic architectures. You don’t need years of experience. You need the mindset of a builder: someone who wants to understand how data, design, and logic connect to create client value.
Exceptional interns who share our drive often continue their mission with us after graduation.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with our team to design, build, and deploy Agentic AI models that solve real-world business problems, from front-end development to API integration.
- Work with our engineering and AI consulting teams to design and implement intelligent software components for AI-powered products.
- Build and test backend APIs, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration modules that connect large language models with enterprise data.
- Collaborate on the development of internal tools for model monitoring, evaluation, and interaction (think copilots, assistants, and automation agents).
- Translate client and internal requirements into clean, efficient, and scalable software designs.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture sessions, and product demos to refine both technical and strategic perspectives.
- Support proof-of-concept implementations for clients — from concept validation to integration and deployment.
- Continuously learn and experiment with emerging frameworks for generative AI, vector-based retrieval, and workflow automation.
We keep things flexible: remote-friendly hours mean you can balance work and study. As a startup, we’re not bogged down by bureaucracy - you’ll have the freedom to experiment, fail fast, and learn even faster.
Minimum Qualifications
We're keeping our bar realistic for intern-level talent:
- You’re in the final year of your MBO, HBO, or university program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field - ready to apply what you’ve learned.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with some experience building or integrating APIs and working with modern frameworks.
- Understanding of data structures, version control (Git), and backend or cloud-based systems.
- Interest in AI integration, automation, or large-scale data applications.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, proactive communication, and ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
We’re more interested in your potential and entrepreneurial mindset than in years of experience - if you’ve built something meaningful or learned by doing, we want to hear from you.
Preferred Qualifications
These would make you stand out, but they're not deal-breakers - we're a startup, so we're betting on growth:
- Some experience with AI integration frameworks, orchestration, or workflow automation tools.
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and distributed data processing.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, vector databases, or building data-driven applications.
- Understanding of modern architecture concepts (microservices, event-driven systems, or data pipelines).
- An entrepreneurial mindset - maybe you’ve built your own app, contributed to open source, or joined a startup project before.
What You’ll Learn
- How to design and implement AI-enabled software that runs in real enterprise environments.
- How AI solutions are architected, validated, and deployed - from discovery to production.
- How to think like a consulting engineer: understanding the “why” behind every line of code.
- How to translate abstract use cases into working systems that deliver impact.
- How modern businesses use agentic AI to automate reasoning, orchestration, and decision-making.
Why Join Us
At Subduxion, you won’t be another intern - you’ll be a contributor.
We work in small, autonomous teams where every line of code shapes something real.
You’ll have room to experiment, take ownership, and see how technology and strategy merge to make organizations more intelligent.
- Mentorship from experienced engineers and AI consultants.
- Access to real projects with real business stakes.
- A culture that values speed, clarity, and ownership over bureaucracy.
- A front-row seat to the next generation of applied AI.
