Software Engineer II

About the Role

Digital products play a central role in how we create value for customers, support the teams who serve them, and shape the consumer experience.

Our product organization brings together small, empowered teams that move with clarity, speed, and purpose, enabling digital to be a meaningful source of advantage across Coca-Cola’s North America Operating Unit.

Our work spans customer journeys, service delivery, sales workflows, and the platforms that connect them. We are raising our standards for product craft and rebuilding the systems behind these experiences.

As a Software Engineer, you will be a core contributor on an empowered product team, working closely with Product Management, Design, and fellow Engineers to build high-quality software that solves real customer problems. This role is for engineers who want to grow their craft, develop strong product instincts, and contribute to solutions—not just execute tasks.

What You Will Work On

At Coca-Cola, engineers have the opportunity to build products at meaningful scale—shaping the digital experiences, platforms, and intelligent systems that power how we serve customers, enable field teams and partners, support sales, and drive transaction growth across one of the world’s most recognized brands. Depending on the team, you could work on connected service tools that improve resolution speed and reliability, data and API platforms that unlock growth and decisioning, customer and operational experiences that reduce friction across workflows, or sales products that equip teams with better visibility, insights, and execution capabilities. This is a chance to join at a pivotal moment: helping define modern engineering practices, influence product direction, and build high-impact solutions in empowered, cross-functional teams where your work directly connects to business performance and customer outcomes

How We Work

You’ll be part of a dedicated, cross-functional team (Product, Design, Engineering) that is:

• Empowered to solve problems, not just build features

• Accountable for outcomes, not output

• Collaborative by default, from discovery through delivery

• Continuously learning, using data and customer insight to improve

Key Responsibilities

Partner in Discovery & Solution Shaping

• Partner with Product Management and Product Design to deeply understand customer problems, workflows, and pain points

• Contribute to solution discovery, including ideation, prototyping, and evaluating multiple approaches

• Bring a technical perspective to help the team identify what is feasible, what is valuable, and what is worth building

• Challenge assumptions and propose alternative solutions that are simpler, faster, or more impactful

Lead Technical Direction for the Team

• Define and guide the technical approach, architecture, and system design for your team’s product area

• Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, scalability, maintainability, and cost

• Ensure alignment with broader platform and enterprise architecture where appropriate

• Identify and manage technical risks early, surfacing tradeoffs clearly to partners

Own End-to-End Engineering Outcomes

• Lead the team in delivering high-quality solutions that meet standards for performance, reliability, security, and scalability

• Ensure strong engineering practices, including testing, observability, and CI/CD

• Maintain a high bar for code quality and system design through reviews and hands-on contribution

• Drive continuous improvement of the product through iteration, feedback, and learning

Own Outcome-Oriented Delivery

• Partner with Product and Data to define and track success metrics and outcomes

• Ensure the team is focused on delivering meaningful impact, not just completing work

• Use data, customer feedback, and experimentation to guide decisions and prioritize improvements

• Help the team balance short-term delivery with long-term product and technical health

Contribute to a Strong Engineering Culture

• Help define and evolve engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across teams

• Promote a culture of pragmatism, simplicity, and high-quality execution

• Collaborate with other tech leads to ensure consistency and leverage shared solutions where appropriate

What We’re Looking For

• Strong full stack engineering skills (frontend + backend, APIs, modern architectures)

• Product mindset: Cares about users, outcomes, and why things are built

• Technical judgment: Makes smart tradeoffs, avoids over-engineering

• Ownership & leadership: Takes initiative and influences decisions

• Collaboration: Works effectively with product managers and designers

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience

• Experience building and shipping production-grade applications

• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (frontend and backend)

• Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, and cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on cross-functional product teams (Product, Design, Engineering)

• Experience contributing to product discovery or solution design, not just delivery

• Track record of technical leadership within a team (formal or informal)

• Experience building customer-facing products

• Familiarity with modern engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, observability)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

• Equivalent practical experience is equally valued

Who Thrives Here

Engineers who:

• Are curious about customers and how products create value

• Enjoy collaborating and debating ideas across disciplines

• Take pride in both what they build and why it matters

Who This Role Is Not For

This role may not be the right fit if you:

• Prefer working from detailed requirements with limited ambiguity

• Want to focus primarily on coding without engaging in product decisions

• Are most comfortable in highly structured, delivery-driven environments
