A 24-month fixed-term Software Engineer role with the WA Government's Biodiversity Information Office in Kensington, developing and maintaining the Dandjoo biodiversity data repository. Day-to-day work spans Python backend development (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy) and web frontend work (TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Vue), alongside databases, Docker/Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
Salary: $99,134 - $104,044 p.a. plus Superannuation

The Biodiversity Information Office (BIO) has been created as a collaborative unit to enable innovative development and delivery of systems to capture, curate and report biodiversity data for the state of Western Australia (WA).
We currently have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our team.
This position supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of WA’s biodiversity data repository. Collaborating with a dynamic team of software and data engineers and science officers, they will support the ongoing enhancement of the Dandjoo application to meet the business objectives of the Biodiversity Information Office and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA).
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.
