Beacon Holdings · Toronto, Canada ·
Forward-deployed software engineer embedding with Beacon's internal business units (Finance, Legal, M&A, Talent) to identify operational bottlenecks and ship agentic AI tools into firm workflows. Day to day involves building LLM-powered agents, integrations, prompts, and UIs in Python, TypeScript, or Go and iterating on them in production.
Beacon is acquiring and operating a portfolio of vertical SaaS companies. Most private equity firms scale by adding people. We are building Beacon to scale by adding software. The thesis is simple: portfolio operations, value creation, and deal sourcing are bottlenecked by human attention, and an agentic operating system can lift that ceiling by an order of magnitude.
We are building that system. It has two pieces. A sensing layer is a cross-portfolio data lake on open table formats with a feature store on top that makes the data agent-readable. An action layer runs workflows across three domains: how we run the firm, how we grow the portfolio, and how we acquire into it. Underneath both sits a feedback loop that captures every action and outcome with stable identifiers. Beacon has raised $550M+ from investors including General Catalyst, Lightspeed, D1 Capital, CPMG, and the family offices of the founders of Stripe, DoorDash, and Ramp.
Forward Deployed Software Engineers work directly on transforming how Beacon operates. In this role, you will embed directly with our internal business units—such as Finance, Legal, M&A, and Talent—figuring out where operational bottlenecks lie and shipping agentic software directly into our core firm workflows. You will take foundational agent platforms built by our engineering teams and turn them into operational leverage for internal stakeholders. This is a high-impact, hands-on software engineering role. You will spend your time working alongside domain leaders within Beacon to identify high-leverage workflows and deploy agentic AI tools that automate, accelerate, and scale internal processes. The best engineers will compress complex internal domain knowledge into scalable, automated workflows that increase firm efficiency. This is not a traditional corporate engineering position. We ship production code from day one. The deliverable is a running system.
To ensure transparency, we want candidates to know that Beacon Software uses Artificial Intelligence and AI-enabled tools to assist with screening, reviewing, organizing and highlighting profiles and applications that match the key requirements for each role.
Every application is reviewed by a member of our team, and all decisions throughout the process are made by humans. We use AI to support efficiency and consistency, not to replace human judgment. We are committed to a fair, thoughtful, and equitable experience for every candidate.
