Builds and scales backend systems for Prophet Security’s AI-driven cybersecurity platform, focusing on security data ingestion, automation workflows, and integrations with third-party tools. Core tech: Python, Go, and AI agents for threat investigation.
At Prophet Security, we’re not just building a platform that automates complex security tasks—we’re building a company where every team member directly impacts customer success. You’ll work closely with our customers, understand their needs, and see firsthand how your work makes a difference.
Prophet Security’s founding team brings more than 30 years of cybersecurity experience from leading companies, including Abnormal Security, Expel, Mandiant, McAfee, Oracle, Red Canary, Red Hat, Riverbed, and Symantec. We are focused on disrupting the $400 billion security labor market by building the future of automated security operations.
We’re seeking recent and upcoming graduates to join our engineering team. If you’re excited to build impactful products, grow alongside experienced engineers, and take meaningful ownership at a fast-growing startup, we encourage you to apply.
Our platform analyzes security alerts, develops and executes investigation plans, and produces detailed findings and actionable recommendations. Security analysts review these investigations and provide context and feedback, which are continuously incorporated into future automation.
As a New Graduate Software Engineer, you’ll help build and evolve the core backend systems that power Prophet’s platform. Working alongside experienced engineers and experts in product, machine learning, and cybersecurity, you’ll contribute to services that ingest, process, and reason over large volumes of security data.
Example projects may include:
Integrations at scale: Building extensible frameworks for integrations with third-party security systems, including SIEMs, EDR/XDR platforms, identity providers, and cloud and SaaS logs.
Proof-of-Value pipelines: Developing performant, reliable backends that enable fast customer onboarding and compelling proof-of-value experiences, from data ingestion to actionable insights.
Security data platforms: Designing storage, indexing, and access patterns for highly dimensional, time-oriented security data used in real-time analysis and historical investigations.
AI-powered security workflows: Developing and evaluating agents and automation that help security teams investigate threats more quickly and effectively.
You’ll write production code, participate in technical design, collaborate across teams, and take ownership of projects from development through deployment. You’ll receive guidance and mentorship while gaining the independence to solve meaningful technical and customer problems.
Our technology stack: AI-powered agents, data synthesis and correlation, security-tool integrations, Python, Go, React, and TypeScript.
Recently completed or currently completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience with one or more relevant programming languages, such as Python or Go, through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.
Understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts, including data structures, algorithms, testing, and system design.
Demonstrated experience building software through academic, internship, research, open-source, or personal projects.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively and learn in a fast-moving environment.
Passion for building high-quality products and solving customer problems.
Experience with backend services, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or machine learning is helpful but not required.
Our employees are our greatest asset. We provide competitive benefits, meaningful equity participation, and a fun, inspiring environment in which to learn, create, and collaborate.
Customer Centricity: We place customers at the center of our decisions and strive to exceed their expectations.
Practicality over Perfection: We favor effective solutions, thoughtful tradeoffs, and agile decision-making.
Strive for Excellence: We hold ourselves to high standards and continuously improve.
Transparent Communication: We encourage open, honest dialogue and build trust through collaboration.
Unwavering Resilience: We persist through challenges and remain focused on achieving our goals.
Have Fun: We balance hard work with creativity, enjoyment, and a positive team environment.
