Build and optimize real-time onboard software for autonomous vehicle platforms using C++. Responsibilities include developing perception and control modules, managing sensor middleware, and ensuring system performance and safety on Linux-based compute stacks.
You will build and optimize real-time onboard software that runs on vehicle compute platforms. You will connect sensors to autonomy systems, improve performance and reliability, implement safety mechanisms, create diagnostic tooling, test software, and productionize research algorithms in C++.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time onboard software modules for perception, sensor fusion, path planning, vehicle control, and safety monitoring.
- Maintain and improve middleware connecting sensor hardware to autonomy algorithm consumers.
- Own latency and throughput performance across the onboard compute stack.
- Implement fault detection, isolation, and recovery mechanisms.
- Build diagnostics, logging, and observability tooling for post-drive analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Write unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for onboard compute targets.
- Productionize research algorithms as efficient C++ deployments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- C++ proficiency.
- Modern C++ standards.
- Linux.
- Data serialization formats, including Protobuf and JSON.
