Job Description Summary:

Job Title: Software Engineer 1, Trainee

At ModMed, We Think Big. We Have Fun. We Do Good.

Healthcare technology shouldn't get in the way—it should get out of the way.

Our Mission is to place doctors and patients at the center of care through an intelligent, specialty-specific cloud platform. Our Vision is a world where the software ModMed builds directly increases medical-practice success and improves patient outcomes.

We aren't just writing code; we are transforming healthcare through AI. At ModMed, we’ve evolved beyond traditional software development: no more SDLC, it's AiDLC (AI-Driven Life Cycle). We leverage AI-assisted development, automated intelligence, and smart workflows to build faster, smarter, and with purpose, giving time back to doctors so they can focus on what matters most: their patients.

How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will be at the forefront of the AiDLC revolution, building high-impact, cloud-native tools that power thousands of medical practices across the country.

Here is how you'll live our core values every day:

• Create Customer Delight: Craft intuitive, high-performing features and AI-assisted workflows that doctors and clinical staff love using.

• Save Time: Design streamlined solutions that automate routine tasks and optimize platform performance so medical providers spend less time on screens and more time with patients.

• Innovate Boldly, Then Make Things Happen: Embrace AI tools, experiment with modern tech, participate in hackathons, and collaborate to turn bold, creative concepts into production-ready software.

• Align Passion With Purpose: Build software that directly improves healthcare delivery, knowing your work makes a meaningful difference every single day.

• Think Big. Have Fun. Do Good: Engage in system architecture, leverage generative AI capabilities, solve complex challenges, and grow your craft alongside an inclusive, high-energy team.

What We’re Looking For

We know exceptional talent comes from all paths and backgrounds. You don't need to check every single box on day one—we value potential, curiosity, and a drive to build great things.

• Core Expertise: [Insert core required skills/experience, e.g., proficiency in Java, Python, TypeScript, or cloud infrastructure].

• AiDLC Mindset: Curiosity and enthusiasm for leveraging AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLMs, automated code generation) to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and modernize software development.

• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills with a track record of building reliable, scalable solutions.

• Collaborative & Inclusive: Strong communication skills and a desire to thrive in an environment where every voice is heard and unique perspectives are valued.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience or familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Exposure to modern frameworks (React, Angular, Node.js, Spring Boot).

• Experience integrating machine learning models, AI APIs, or smart automation tools into production applications.

Why Build Your Career at ModMed?

• Continuous Growth & Mentorship: Dedicated career pathways, continuous learning opportunities, and mentorship to help you level up fast in an AI-first development world.

• Culture of Belonging: An inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and perspectives are celebrated, backed by active Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
