Amazon's Employee Services Technology team (PXT) in Dallas is hiring an SDE II to build Service Central, the platform delivering HR support to Amazon employees worldwide. Day to day: designing scalable AWS-based platform features enhanced with generative AI, writing design docs, and mentoring engineers.
Do you want to shape how Amazonians worldwide receive HR support? Are you passionate about building intelligent, AI-powered solutions that transform employee experiences? In this role, you will design and build platform features that combine AWS services with generative AI to deliver personalized, efficient HR support to Amazon employees globally. We invite you to join the Employee Services Technology team within Amazon's People Experience and Technology (PXT) organization.
Key job responsibilities
Design and develop critical platform features that are highly scalable and maintainable, aligning with AWS best practices and your team's long-term architecture plans.
Architect and implement AI-powered solutions using AWS services to enable predictive support capabilities and automated workflow orchestration.
Design robust integration patterns between multiple HR systems while ensuring data security and compliance, and translate complex business requirements into clear technical solutions.
Mentor engineers on your team through code reviews and design discussions, raising the bar on code quality and engineering practices.
Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, and senior engineers to drive architectural decisions and deliver team-level goals.
A day in the life
You will write maintainable, well-structured code to advance your current project and submit it for team code review. You might design a system to solve a large-scale problem and present your approach in a design document to build consensus. You will attend operations reviews to understand system health, meet with customers to understand their pain points, and review teammates' code to help raise quality. You will also research new technologies that could simplify your team's systems, resolve trouble tickets, and meet with your manager to discuss career development.
