About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Software Developer specializing in backend services to join their growing IT department in Vereeniging. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic that powers their core applications and platforms. This role requires a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and database management, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of their systems. You will work collaboratively with front-end developers and product managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and efficient backend APIs and services. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using languages such as Java, Python, or C#. Optimize application performance, database queries, and server-side logic for speed and efficiency. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Implement and manage database schemas and data models to support application requirements. Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting of production issues. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 2+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Node.js). Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, No SQL) and data modeling concepts.
