Site Operations Manager in Accrington

Job Description

Site Operations Manager | Accrington | Private Bupa Healthcare | Career Progression

Lead People. Improve Performance. Deliver an Outstanding Customer Experience.

Exceptional operations don't happen by chance. They are built by leaders who develop great people, create the right culture and never lose sight of the customer.

At Bensons for Beds, our logistics teams play a vital role in delivering the final and most important stage of the customer journey. Every day, they enter our customers' homes, represent our brand and deliver an experience that shapes how customers remember us.

We're looking for an exceptional Site Operations Manager to lead one of our regional home delivery operations.

This is far more than a warehouse and transport role. It's an opportunity to build a high-performing operation by developing people, creating accountability, driving continuous improvement and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Leading a team of around 50 colleagues across warehouse, planning and transport, you'll create an environment where colleagues feel supported, challenged and empowered to perform at their very best.

If you're passionate about developing people as much as delivering operational results, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

As Site Operations Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the site.

You'll lead through your people, creating a culture where operational fundamentals are consistently delivered, safety is never compromised and customers receive the exceptional service they expect from Bensons.

Working closely with your leadership team, you'll identify opportunities, remove barriers, solve problems and continually improve the way your operation performs.

You'll use data to understand performance, identify root causes and make informed decisions that improve both colleague and customer outcomes.

Most importantly, you'll leave the operation stronger than you found it.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by far more than operational performance.

You'll be successful if you:

· Build an engaged, high-performing team where colleagues feel valued, supported and accountable.

· Develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback.

· Deliver outstanding customer experiences through safe, reliable and efficient operations.

· Create a culture where operational excellence is built on strong daily fundamentals rather than short-term fixes.

· Use data and insight to understand performance, identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.

· Balance customer experience, colleague engagement, operational performance and commercial outcomes in every decision you make.

· Build strong relationships across the business, working collaboratively to improve the operation and support wider business objectives.

About You

We're looking for an operational leader who enjoys building teams every bit as much as building performance.

You'll bring:

· Experience leading a warehouse, transport or logistics operation.

· A proven track record of developing people and creating high-performing teams.

· Strong operational and commercial awareness.

· Experience improving operational performance through coaching, problem solving and continuous improvement.

· The ability to analyse operational data and translate insight into meaningful action.

· A collaborative leadership style built on trust, integrity and accountability.

· A passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Experience within two-person home delivery, furniture retail or another customer-facing logistics environment would be highly advantageous.

Why Bensons?

This is an exciting time to join our logistics team.

We're investing in our people, strengthening leadership capability and continually improving the way we operate. You'll have the opportunity to shape your operation, influence meaningful change and play a key role in creating an environment where colleagues thrive and customers receive an exceptional experience.
