Designs, builds, and maintains SharePoint-based solutions — sites, web parts, workflows, Power Automate and Power Apps — for a contractor supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, working remotely in the US. Core stack includes SharePoint Online, Office 365, PowerShell, and standard web technologies.
We are seeking a highly skilled SharePoint Developer to in our support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to contribute to the design, development, customization, and maintenance of SharePoint-based solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in SharePoint development, a deep understanding of SharePoint architecture, and the ability to create efficient and effective solutions to meet customer needs. Current or previous experience with the VA is highly preferred.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SharePoint solutions.
Design, develop, and customize Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint applications, web parts, workflows, and other components to enhance functionality and usability.
Implement and maintain SharePoint sites, pages, libraries, and lists, ensuring proper permissions and security settings.
Integrate SharePoint solutions with other enterprise systems and applications, such as CRM, ERP, and third-party tools.
Create and maintain documentation for developed solutions, including technical specifications and user guides.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SharePoint applications, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions.
Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in SharePoint technology and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, testers, and business analysts, to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
Assist in migrating and upgrading SharePoint versions as necessary, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption.
Train end-users on how to effectively use SharePoint solutions, providing support and addressing questions or concerns.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a SharePoint Developer, with a strong portfolio of SharePoint projects and solutions.
Proficiency in SharePoint development tools, including SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, and PowerShell scripting.
In-depth knowledge of SharePoint features such as lists, libraries, workflows, content types, and permissions.
Experience with SharePoint Online and Office 365 services.
Familiarity with web development languages and technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint development (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate) are a plus.
Experience with VA is a plus.
