Service Technician

Salary

£14.31

If you love being a vehicle technician but you’re thinking “I fancy a change”, or you have been thinking “how about a career change” and “I want more variety” or “I want better hours”, then we may just have exactly what you’re looking for!

Those customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out – and as part of our engineering team you’ll be a key part in making sure our bus fleet at Glenrothes Depot is in tip top condition to do just that. From Oil changes to Dpf Maintenance and everything in between. It’s a really important role within the garage, so we’ll make sure you’re as looked after as our vehicles are!

Don’t worry if you’ve not worked on buses – we’ll train you on everything you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of Fitters, fellow Technicians, Electricians and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.

Aside from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there’s plenty more we can offer:

• Great benefits including a competitive weekly pay rate, company pension scheme, free financial education and affordable loans, and finally a range of money-saving opportunities including discounts on holidays and retail, cinema outings, dental insurance, vehicle breakdown cover and hotels and attractions
• Free travel for you and a household member on Stagecoach bus services
• Promotions – perhaps you’re happy sticking as an Service Technician and that’s fine by us, but if you want to progress we’ll support you every step of the way. You will be given exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further.
• Training – a dedicated high level training programme to reinforce the skills you already have and an opportunity to gain a qualification in another trade!
• An employee assistance programme to support health and wellbeing through a confidential service available 24 hours a day, which provides specialist guidance and assistance on a range of personal and work-related issues, from dealing with stress and anxiety to managing financial, marital or legal issues.
• A great working environment with loads of opportunity to make new friends from a bunch of great colleagues and employee networks building inclusive environments for women, veterans, carers, multicultural and LGBTQ+ colleagues. We are proud to advocate and collaborate with our corporate charity, as well as a number of community engagement projects – in addition to proudly promoting an array of health, wellbeing and family initiatives.

You don’t have to come from a bus background (but we wouldn’t be put off if you did either!), but you will need to have an interest in working in an engineering technician field – if you like mucking in then this may be the job for you!

Applicants will be required to hold a full UK driving licence.
