Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer – Power
Electronics to handle installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and
maintenance of power-electronic systems such as UPS, inverters, stabilizers,
SMPS, battery systems, and related equipment.
Qualification
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics
& Telecommunication, or Power Electronics with around 5 years of relevant
service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, commissioning, testing, and servicing of
power-electronic equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults
at customer sites.
- Handle breakdown complaints and ensure timely ticket
closure.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Troubleshoot PCB, IGBT/MOSFET, rectifier, inverter, charger,
relay, contactor, and control-circuit issues.
- Conduct input/output voltage, current, battery, and
system-performance checks.
- Coordinate with customers and provide technical support.
- Prepare service reports, site visit reports, and failure
analysis reports.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the technical/R&D
team.
- Maintain service records and spare-parts requirements.
- Train customers/operators on basic equipment operation and
maintenance.
- Travel to customer locations as required.
Requirements
Core Functionality – Service Engineer (Power Electronics)
- Installation & Commissioning: Install, configure, test,
and commission UPS, stabilizers, inverters, chargers, and other
power-electronic systems.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve electrical,
electronic, PCB, control-circuit, IGBT/MOSFET, relay, and component-level
faults.
- Breakdown Service: Attend customer complaints and breakdown
calls and restore equipment within the required TAT.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
and identify potential failures before breakdown.
- Service Ticket Management: Monitor assigned tickets, provide
regular updates, and ensure 24-hour/defined-TAT ticket closure.
- Testing & Diagnosis: Check voltage, current, frequency,
battery condition, temperature, alarms, and system parameters using appropriate
instruments.
- Root Cause Analysis: Analyze repeated failures and prepare
RCA/failure reports with corrective actions.
- PCB & Component Testing: Diagnose PCB-level issues and
identify defective electronic components wherever applicable.
- Customer Handling: Communicate technical issues clearly to
customers and provide proper guidance and solutions.
- Spare Parts Management: Identify required spares, coordinate
replacement, and maintain proper records.
- Technical Reporting: Prepare service reports, site visit
reports, installation/commissioning reports, and failure analysis reports.
- Technical Coordination: Coordinate with the R&D,
Production, Quality, and Technical Support teams for complex issues.
- Field Support: Travel to customer locations for
installation, breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and technical inspections.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow electrical
safety procedures, company SOPs, and service standards
Functional Role
- The engineer will primarily be responsible for field
service, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, breakdown support,
installation & commissioning, customer support, service-ticket management,
and technical reporting for power-electronics products.
