What we're looking for

Core Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in SEO, Content Marketing, and/or Digital Marketing
• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean with business-level English
• Proven experience in SEO content writing and/or content marketing, with a portfolio demonstrating successful outcomes
• Strong copywriting and copy editing skills, including experience giving constructive feedback to other writers
• Deep understanding of Naver's content formats and preferences, including headings, structure, readability, and narrative flow
• Experience with editorial calendar planning and management based on keyword research, audience intent, and Naver platform insights
• Experience managing, guiding, or supervising other writers or freelancers (content quality oversight, providing feedback, coaching for improvement)
• Experience with publishing content in a CMS (content management system)
• Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals: keyword optimization, content structure, user intent, and how content fits within broader SEO strategy
• Familiarity with Google & Naver SEO tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, BlackKiwi, or similar platforms (bonus!)
• Experience using web analytics tools to understand how users engage with content and to measure content performance
• High attention to detail with the ability to closely follow detailed written instructions and maintain quality standards
• Strong time management: Ability to self-manage capacity, meet project deadlines, and balance multiple priorities

Cultural & Market Intelligence

• Deep understanding of local cultural and linguistic nuances that goes beyond language fluency—you know what resonates with audiences in your market
• Appreciation of local writing trends and content preferences, ensuring content feels native rather than translated
• Ability to identify opportunities specific to your market that may not be obvious from a global perspective

Collaboration & Communication

• Excellent communication skills: Clear, proactive, and transparent in both written and verbal communication
• Collaborative mindset: You build relationships easily, work well across teams, and contribute positively to team culture
• Willingness to give and receive feedback constructively, always aiming to improve quality and impact

Future-Oriented & Adaptable Mindset

• Business-driven: you think beyond content for content's sake — you understand how organic traffic connects to conversion and revenue, and use that lens to prioritise what you work on
• Commercially curious: you naturally factor CRO principles into how you structure, write, and optimise content — from headline framing to page layout to calls to action
• You set your own bar high: you define success in outcomes, not outputs, and hold yourself accountable to results that move the needle for the Korean market
• Curiosity about emerging channels: You're actively interested in how discovery is evolving—including AI search, LLMs, social search, and new platforms—and you're eager to learn
• Comfort with ambiguity: You can experiment with new approaches (like content formatting for AI-generated answers) even when best practices are still being established
• Channel-agnostic thinking: You understand that "SEO" increasingly means "discoverability"—whether through traditional search engines, AI tools, social platforms, or channels yet to emerge
• Data-driven adaptability: You can objectively assess what's working and adjust your approach based on performance and market signals
• Early adopter energy: You're the type of person who's already exploring how Canva appears in new discovery channels, bringing insights and ideas rather than waiting for direction

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in SEO strategy development and planning
• Hands-on experience running or owning a Naver Blog or a similar owned content channel
• Experience with other Naver content surfaces such as Naver Café, Naver Knowledge iN, or Naver video formats (e.g. Clip, TV)
• Familiarity with YouTube SEO and video content discoverability, given YouTube's strong presence in the search landscape
