We are seeking an experienced Senior Voice Network Engineer to join our client's IT and Unified Communications team in the aviation industry. This role focuses on designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise voice, video, messaging, and collaboration services.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications, Microsoft Teams Phone, enterprise voice infrastructure, and cloud calling technologies. You will collaborate with network, security, telecom, infrastructure, and service desk teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality communication services.
This is a hybrid position based in Fort Worth, TX. Candidates must be US citizens and be available to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday.
Position DetailsJob Title: Senior Voice Network Engineer
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site Tuesday–Thursday; Remote Monday & Friday)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time
Citizenship Requirement: US Citizens Only
Weekend On-Call: Approximately once every 10 weeks (phone support)
Design, deploy, configure, and support Unified Communications platforms, including Cisco CUCM, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Webex, Webex Calling, Cisco SBCs, voice gateways, and Microsoft Teams Phone.
Support enterprise voice services, including SIP trunks, PSTN connectivity, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and cloud calling.
Configure dial plans, route patterns, calling policies, hunt groups, auto attendants, call queues, voicemail, and number management.
Administer Microsoft Teams voice features through Teams Admin Center and PowerShell.
Troubleshoot voice, video, messaging, and collaboration issues across LAN, WAN, internet, and cloud environments.
Analyze call quality using latency, jitter, packet loss, MOS, QoS, and platform-specific diagnostic tools.
Maintain network services supporting real-time communications, including QoS, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and firewall rules.
Support voice gateways, SIP trunks, SBCs, desk phones, conference-room systems, headsets, and soft clients.
Manage user provisioning, licensing, migrations, onboarding, and offboarding.
Perform system upgrades, patches, certificate renewals, backup validation, and lifecycle management.
Coordinate incident response, root-cause analysis, change management, and problem resolution.
Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, dial plans, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
Work with telecommunications carriers and technology vendors to resolve service issues.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
At least 3 years of experience supporting enterprise networking and/or Unified Communications environments.
Strong knowledge of SIP, RTP, SRTP, SDP, TLS, codecs, dial plans, and PSTN technologies.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPNs, and firewalls.
Experience diagnosing voice-quality and connectivity issues using packet captures, call logs, and monitoring tools.
Experience administering Microsoft Teams, Teams Phone, Direct Routing, and/or Operator Connect.
Hands-on experience with Cisco collaboration technologies, including CUCM, Unity Connection, Webex, CUBE, and/or Cisco voice gateways.
Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and incident-management skills.
Must be a US citizen and available to work on-site in Fort Worth, TX, Tuesday through Thursday.
Experience migrating from on-premises telephony to cloud calling platforms, such as Microsoft Teams Phone and Webex Calling.
Knowledge of hybrid Cisco and Microsoft collaboration environments.
Experience with PowerShell, APIs, Python, and/or other automation tools.
Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise change-management processes.
Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration, Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate, Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer Expert, or ITIL Foundation.
Work on enterprise-scale Unified Communications and voice infrastructure.
Support critical collaboration and communication services in the aviation industry.
Collaborate with cross-functional IT, network, security, and telecom teams.
Gain exposure to Cisco and Microsoft cloud calling technologies.
