Senior TM1 Systems Analyst / Developer
Security Clearance: Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) required (NV2 preferred)
Location & Working Arrangements: Canberra-based, on-site (part-time arrangement, 3 days in office / 24 hours per week)
Contract Duration: 12-month initial term (with options for up to 2 x 12-month extensions)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior TM1 Systems Analyst / Developer (EL1 equivalent) for an opportunity working within the Internal Budget Section of DFAT’s Finance Division. The role will support the administration, maintenance, and development of TM1 modules as part of a Budget Management Solution (BMS) program designed to modernise budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with finance and project management teams to provide ongoing TM1 support, including administration, maintenance, and development of existing and additional modules.
Undertake end-to-end TM1 project development and maintenance activities, covering requirements gathering, cube design, rules, and TurboIntegrator processes.
Manage TM1 Web Active Forms, security maintenance, training, and Pulse monitoring.
Drive reporting improvements using Planning Analytics tools such as PAFE, PAW, MDX Views, and Universal Reports.
Translate complex business and data requirements into practical, high-quality reporting solutions.
About You
Technical Expertise: Demonstrated technical experience in end-to-end IBM Cognos TM1 development, administration, and maintenance (cubes, rules, TurboIntegrator, Web Active Forms, and security).
Planning Analytics: Strong experience using Planning Analytics tools including Planning Analytics for Excel (PAfE), Planning Analytics Workspace (PAW), MDX Views, and Universal Reports.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse data and business requirements to build effective financial reporting solutions.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work alongside finance professionals and non-technical stakeholders to understand their needs.
Qualifications & Context: Relevant qualifications in IT, data analytics, business systems, or finance are highly desirable, alongside previous experience within a Commonwealth Government or public sector finance environment. Knowledge of Commonwealth budget processes is a plus.
