About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (Networks) to join our Technology team. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration and operational support of enterprise network and data centre infrastructure.
This role is suitable for an experienced network engineer with strong hands-on knowledge of network infrastructure, security, troubleshooting and network projects.
Key responsibilities
Design, implement, administer and troubleshoot network and data centre infrastructure.
Monitor network performance, availability and capacity, and perform proactive improvements.
Manage network incidents, problems, changes, upgrades and maintenance activities.
Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPN and network security devices.
Perform network security hardening and support security reviews.
Plan and execute hardware, software and firmware upgrades.
Support High Availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) activities.
Participate in and lead network/infrastructure projects.
Work with vendors and contractors to ensure successful implementation and SLA compliance.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and operational procedures.
About you
Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in network and/or data centre infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco/Aruba network devices and Cisco ACI.
Strong knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, IPsec, VRRP, HSRP, SNMP, NAT, Multicast, Subnetting and Access Lists.
Strong understanding of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS and MPLS.
Experience with network security technologies including Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Fortinet or Palo Alto.
Experience with F5 Load Balancers, Infoblox, DNS, Proxy and network management platforms.
Experience in network project implementation, vendor management and RFQ/RFP processes.
Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DRP) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
CCNP or higher certification is preferred; CCIE and other relevant certifications are an advantage.
