Senior Structural Designer - Infra

Primary Purpose of the Job:

Stantec is looking for a Structural Engineer / Detailer / Modeler who can be a part of our growing team in our Pune office. Contribute to the ongoing growth of Stantec ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in specialist areas of structural/civil engineering and design. To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading-edge programmes and projects.

Support project managers/team leaders by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards meet both the client and Stantec expectations.

BIM Modelling, Detailing, Drafting and Documentation of projects under the instructions and guidance of a Project Lead using Structural Engineering and Designing techniques utilizing software such as, but not limited to, 3D modelling and 2D drawings using REVIT and CADS-RC. MicroStation and Open Building is a plus in accordance with Client standards and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

• The Structural Detailer / Modeler shall be responsible for delivery of drawings, models and associated documentation.
• Produce 3D model and preparaing 2D GA drawings along with section, elevations and details using BIM software and Stantec standards.
• Produce reinforced concrete detailing and steelwork arrangement drawings which are clear, accurate, cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively.
• Consider environmental issues in all detailing activities.
• Ensure the standard practices and details are utilized wherever possible.
• Ensure that previous similar solutions are adapted and utilized wherever possible.
• Report problems in the detailing and brief to an appropriate person.
• Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within the durations indicated
• Follow Quality procedures and processes.
• Ensure drawing co-ordination with all other disciplines internal and external to STANTEC.
• Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management

Person Specifications:

• Relevant BE / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Should have experience with US, BS, Euro, AS/NZ code detailing practices
• Should have minimum experience of 8-10 years for Reinforced concrete and steelwork detailing in Infrastructure projects. Building and Water structures projects is a plus.
• Ability to effectively operate
  • Hands-on experience with CADS RC, Revit and AutoCAD is a must.
  • MicroStation and Open Building Designer are a plus.
• Understanding of the principles of engineering drawing conception and development
• Understanding of the company’s drawing and design development procedures.
• Should have knowledge of 3D modelling.
• Data / Document management system experience- ProjectWise, BIM360, ACC
• Good interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of the general drawing requirements of a construction team
• Ability to communicate technical proposals clearly and to understand direction by others.
• Ability and interest in leading teams as well as independently work and take initiative
• Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and pro-active attitude to execution / delivery
