Senior/Staff Product Designer

About the Team:

AlphaSense’s Design team is a strategic driver of product differentiation, shaping how the world’s leading companies make high-stakes decisions with confidence. We believe great UX is not just about usability—it’s about deeply understanding our customers’ workflows and building experiences that feel tailored, intelligent, and indispensable to how they work.

As AlphaSense evolves into an AI-native platform, Design plays a critical role in defining how AI shows up in real workflows—from search to synthesis to decision-making. We partner closely with Product and Engineering to turn complex data and advanced AI capabilities into cohesive, intuitive, and high-quality experiences.

Our team is a global group of craftspeople, systems thinkers, and innovators who care deeply about quality, velocity, and impact. We operate with a strong sense of ownership, a bias toward action, and a commitment to raising the bar for what great product design looks like in an AI-first world.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the future of AlphaSense’s product experience. This is a Staff-level individual contributor role, where you’ll lead through design craft, systems thinking, and a deep understanding of our customers’ workflows.

In this role, you will drive strategic design initiatives—translating complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, high-quality experiences that feel tailored to how our customers actually work. You’ll bring clarity to ambiguity, define end-to-end workflows, and ensure our product experiences are cohesive, scalable, and grounded in real user needs.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to shape how capabilities come together into meaningful user experiences — from early concept through execution. You’ll balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints, ensuring we deliver experiences that are not only functional, but differentiated through quality and usability.

As a senior member of the Design team, you’ll act as a multiplier, mentoring other designers, contributing to our design systems and patterns, and helping raise the bar for craft and consistency across the product. You’ll play a critical role in defining how we deliver AI-native workflows, ensuring they are intuitive, trustworthy, and seamlessly integrated into our customers’ day-to-day work.

This role is an opportunity to help establish the foundations of a truly workflow-centric, AI-powered product experience — one that enables our customers to move from information to insight to decision with speed and confidence.

Why this role matters:

At AlphaSense, design is a core driver of how we win. As we build an AI-native platform, the quality of our user experience will define how effectively customers can navigate complexity, build conviction, and make decisions.

In this role, you will help set that standard through the experiences you design, the systems you strengthen, and the team you help elevate.

Who You Are:

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and delivering high-quality, user-centered experiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows, with a proven ability to simplify complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, habit-forming product experiences.
• Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools, with the ability to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Strong collaboration with engineering teams, with working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Bonus if you have experience with React or similar frameworks.
• Actively leverage AI to augment your design process from research and ideation to prototyping and iteration, and continuously build fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
• Strong awareness of emerging AI and search technologies, with curiosity and initiative to apply new capabilities to real product experiences.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity across cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other designers, helping raise the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly curious, thoughtful, and driven, able to quickly build context, form strong points of view, and push work forward.
• Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products is a plus.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that clearly communicate product vision and drive strategic alignment across stakeholders.
• Transform customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction, championing customer empathy throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and a clear connection between user needs, business outcomes, and product direction.
• Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality user experiences that scale.
• Deliver exceptionally crafted solutions while elevating design quality across the team by contributing to the design system, evolving patterns, and shaping best practices.
• Design for systems, not just screens, working within and advancing a growing design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and cohesion across the product.
• Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities, applying new ideas to continuously improve product experiences.
• Communicate complex ideas with clarity and influence, ensuring alignment and momentum across cross-functional partners.
• Collaborate closely with engineering throughout development, advocating for design quality and ensuring a high bar for execution, usability, and attention to detail.
