Senior Specialist Power BI Developer Reporting at Deeplight – Dubai | Jobyssey

Description

DeepLight AI is a specialist AI and data consultancy with extensive experience implementing intelligent enterprise systems across multiple industries, with particular depth in financial services and banking. Our team combines deep expertise in data science, statistical modeling, AI/ML technologies, workflow automation, and systems integration with a practical understanding of complex business operations.

DeepLight AI is a specialist AI and data consultancy dedicated to transforming the regional corporate landscape through bespoke, high-impact intelligent systems. Based in the UAE, we partner with organizations across diverse sectors—with a deep-rooted expertise in financial services and banking—to bridge the gap between complex data and actionable business strategy.

At DeepLight, we don't believe in "off-the-shelf" fixes. We deliver tailored AI solutions designed to integrate seamlessly into existing enterprise architectures, ensuring that innovation is both scalable and secure. From building robust data foundations to deploying sophisticated AI platforms, we empower our clients to lead in an increasingly automated world.

The Senior Specialist – Power BI Developer / Reporting is a senior analytical position within DeepLight consultancy, embedded directly within a major banking client. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade dashboards and reports that translate complex cybersecurity and risk data into actionable business insights. Serving as a critical interface between technical security squads and executive leadership, this position requires advanced data modeling expertise, sharp analytical skills, and the professional diplomacy necessary to deliver high-quality reporting to senior stakeholders within a Tier 1 financial institution.

Your responsibilities in this role include:

Designing and building intuitive, high-performance Power BI dashboards and interactive reports that track cybersecurity metrics, threats, and compliance health.
Constructing robust data models, DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations to aggregate disparate security data sources into a unified reporting layer.
Collaborating closely with cybersecurity engineers, risk analysts, and senior management to translate business questions into technical reporting specifications.
Establishing validation processes to ensure the absolute integrity and accuracy of all automated security reporting, mitigating the risk of reporting errors.
Driving internal adoption of developed reporting tools by conducting training sessions and creating documentation for end-users across the bank.
Supporting DeepLight's engagement footprint by modeling exceptional standards of analytical precision, design clarity, and professional accountability.

As an AI consultancy, our greatest asset is the expertise of our people. While technical mastery is the foundation of what we do, the ability to bridge the gap between complex data science and actionable business value is what defines your success with DeepLight.

We're looking for individuals who are not only world-class in their fields of specialism, but also compelling communicators and persuasive advocates for their own skills. You will be the face of our firm, tasked with building trust, articulating the "why" behind your technical decisions, and effectively "selling" your vision to high-level stakeholders. If you thrive on the challenge of presenting cutting-edge solutions as much as you do on building them, you will fit right in.

Requirements

For this role, we need you to have:

A minimum of 5 years of dedicated experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or reporting roles, with a strong emphasis on Power BI.
Practical experience operating within a regulated banking environment, ensuring data handling adheres to strict internal privacy and security protocols.
Prior experience in a client-facing professional services or consultancy capacity, managing delivery timelines and client expectations.
Documented experience connecting Power BI to varied enterprise data structures, including SQL databases, cloud warehouses (Azure/AWS), or security platform APIs.
Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, gateway architectures, and row-level security (RLS) implementations.
Strong capability in designing star schemas, managing relationships, and writing complex, optimized DAX expressions for large datasets.
Ability to comprehend, structure, and analyse technical security datasets (e.g., vulnerability metrics, incident logs, asset inventories).
Exceptional data visualization skills, with a proven ability to present dense, complex data clearly and cleanly to non-technical executives.
Capacity to handle feedback from multiple senior business units and prioritize competing reporting requests effectively.

It would also be great if you have:

Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or other advanced cloud data analytics credentials.
Basic familiarity with Python or R for advanced data manipulation and statistical analysis within Power BI.
A conceptual understanding of standard security metrics and risk indicators (e.g., NIST, CIS Benchmarks).
Experience integrating Power BI with Power Automate to drive automated email or chat alerts based on metric thresholds.
