This is an excellent opportunity for experienced software engineers who enjoy developing and enhancing enterprise applications, solving complex technical problems and working collaboratively with business and technical stakeholders.
The initial engagement is for 12 months, with the potential for a further 12-month extension.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop, maintain and enhance enterprise software solutions within a multidisciplinary team.
You will work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Testers and ICT Operations to translate business requirements into effective software solutions, troubleshoot production issues and contribute to secure, stable and maintainable systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing, maintaining and enhancing software applications and solutions
Translating business requirements into practical software functionality
Designing and building APIs and system integrations
Working with business and technical stakeholders to identify requirements and opportunities for improvement
Debugging and resolving complex application and production issues
Developing clear technical documentation and unit tests
Applying software engineering design principles and development best practices
Supporting security, testing and configuration management practices
Contributing effectively within multidisciplinary Agile/technical teams
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across some or all of the following:
.NET and/or Java development
SQL
REST APIs, OAS and/or SOA
API and middleware integration
Salesforce and/or MuleSoft
Windows and Linux environments
Oracle databases
ORM technologies
Software design principles and development best practices
Unit testing and technical documentation
Secure software development principles
You will also demonstrate:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
A structured and proactive approach to troubleshooting
Ability to learn new technologies and adapt within a dynamic environment
Applicants should hold a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Computer Science, Diploma of IT, or have at least 5 years' relevant experience.
You must be an Australian citizen and be able to maintain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance.
