Above Security — Tel Aviv (5 days in office)
Above is building the AI-native insider risk platform for the modern enterprise — where humans and AI agents operate together inside security-critical systems.
We're backed by tier-1 global VCs, led by second-time founders, and moving fast because the problem demands it. There are no silos here. No "that's not my area." If it ships, you own it.
We're hiring a full-stack software engineer who wants end-to-end ownership — backend, frontend, infrastructure touchpoints, and AI-driven workflows.
If you're looking for narrow scope or strict boundaries, this is not the role. If you like building real systems and taking responsibility for outcomes, read on.
What you'll do
- Own systems end-to-end — infrastructure, pipelines, and their behavior in production
- Run and evolve our cloud infrastructure — Kubernetes, Kafka, Terraform, GitOps (AWS today, multi-cloud ahead)
- Build the data backbone — ingestion, streaming, and pipelines into our lakehouse that stay correct and affordable as volume grows
- Build AI-native engineering workflows: Sandboxes and dev environments, Automated verification and guardrails, Feedback loops that keep quality up as output scales.
- Build golden paths — repo to production without a human bottleneck
- Use Claude / Codex / AI copilots as default tools — not optional helpers
- Debug production issues across the stack (no handoffs)
- Ship fast, learn fast, fix fast
- Take responsibility for what you build — including after it's live
Hard requirements (non-negotiable)
- 6+ years as a software engineer, with real infrastructure and platform ownership
- You build systems, not just configure them
- Deep Kubernetes: you've run production clusters and debugged them at 2am, not just deployed to them
- Production experience with distributed data systems — Kafka or equivalent streaming, plus pipelines at meaningful scale
- Infrastructure as Code fluency, Terraform specifically
- Deep cloud experience — AWS, Azure, or GCP; networking, identity, and cost are things you actually think about
- Daily, heavy usage of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor — this is how we work)
- High ownership, low ego, high output
- Willing to work 5 days a week from our Tel Aviv office
You're likely a fit if
- You treat developers — and agents — as your customers, and you obsess over their friction
- You already let AI write large parts of your code, and you've built the checks that let you trust it
- You've felt the pain of a slow CI pipeline or a flaky environment and fixed it instead of tolerating it
- You care about behavior in production more than elegance in theory
- You hate the phrase "that's not my job"
- You move fast without breaking trust
- You're comfortable working hard when it matters
Nice to have (strong signal)
- Built internal developer platforms or golden paths that engineers actually adopted
- Lakehouse experience — Iceberg, Snowflake, ClickHouse, Athena, or similar
- Multi-cloud or cloud-migration experience — you've done it and know where the bodies are buried
- GitOps at scale (ArgoCD, Argo Workflows), autoscaling and cost engineering
- Background in security, data-heavy, or enterprise systems
- Experience with AI-powered products in production, or with agent infrastructure and evals
- Startup experience where ownership was unavoidable
How we work
- No strict role boundaries
- Minimal process, maximal responsibility
- Direct access to founders, product, and customers
- Speed > polish, clarity > consensus
Why Above
- You'll build the platform for an engineering org where AI agents do a large share of the writing — very few people get to solve this yet
- Real scale, real data, real security stakes
- High-trust, high-bar engineering culture
- Tier-1 funding, real customers, real urgency
- Office-first team optimized for velocity
