About the Company

Our client is a world leading provider of financial markets infrastructure, operating at the heart of global financial and commodities markets from more than 60 offices across 27 countries. With over 5,200 people globally, their engineering teams build and maintain the technology that underpins price discovery, liquidity and data distribution at enormous scale. Self organising, cross functional Agile teams, a genuine focus on cloud native architecture and automation, and a culture built around continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. This is not a company where engineers are told what to build and left to get on with it. They are involved in shaping technical direction from day one.

Why Work Here?

This is a company that is genuinely investing in Belfast. They have hired 12 engineers here already this year, not as a cost saving exercise, but because they are building serious engineering capability in Northern Ireland for the long term. To support that growth, they have just moved into a brand new office in Belfast city centre, purpose built to house the expanding team and give engineers the environment they need to do their best work. The Belfast team is not a satellite office doing maintenance work. It is a core part of a global engineering organisation tackling complex, large scale problems with modern technology and real autonomy.

If you are a senior engineer who wants to work at the intersection of world class technology and global financial markets, where the systems you build genuinely have to perform and the problems are as complex as they come, this is worth exploring. The work is real, the scale is significant, and the opportunity to grow within a technically serious organisation is genuine.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Principal Engineers to design and implement solutions aligned with IT strategy and technical vision
• Take ownership of engineering deliverables, ensuring quality, scalability and adherence to best practices

• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs to a high standard
• Drive continuous improvement by exploring new technologies, tools and methodologies
• Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence
• Communicate progress effectively and proactively raise impediments to minimise delivery risks
• Build automated testing solutions for complex systems
