Senior Software Engineer

At IT Labs, we partner with international technology companies to build strong engineering teams and impactful digital products.

For this opportunity, you will join a US-based healthcare technology client that develops software designed to improve hospital operations, scheduling, and the use of critical healthcare resources.

You will work on a surgical scheduling and coordination platform that supports hospitals and surgical teams in managing complex workflows around surgical cases, scheduling, patient documentation, and coordination between different stakeholders involved in the process. The goal of the product is to reduce operational friction, improve efficiency, and help healthcare organizations make better use of available surgical capacity.

The role is predominantly frontend-focused, with an approximate split of 80% React / frontend and 20% .NET / backend.

Your main focus will be building and improving modern user-facing functionality using React and TypeScript. At the same time, this is not a frontend-only role. When a feature requires backend changes, you will also be expected to contribute in C#/.NET, for example by creating or modifying APIs, endpoints, or related business logic.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely senior on the frontend, comfortable taking ownership of complex features, and confident enough with backend concepts to contribute across the stack when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of complex frontend features using React and TypeScript.

• Build, refactor, and improve production-grade user interfaces and workflows.

• Implement new functionality based on product and design requirements.

• Develop new frontend components and screens using modern patterns and libraries.

• Improve application performance, maintainability, usability, and code quality.

• Identify areas of the existing codebase that can be improved and proactively propose solutions.

• Contribute to backend development in C#/.NET, including creating or modifying APIs and endpoints when required by your features.

• Integrate frontend functionality with REST APIs and backend services.

• Work with complex forms, tables, state management, and data-fetching patterns.

• Investigate and resolve bugs across both frontend and backend areas.

• Write and maintain automated tests where appropriate.

• Collaborate with QA on both automated and manual testing of complex functionality.

• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, backlog prioritization, and team ceremonies.

• Work closely with engineers, product stakeholders, designers, and domain experts.

• Independently organize your work, follow up on blockers, and drive tasks forward without waiting for constant direction.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong senior-level React experience in production applications.

• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Experience owning complex frontend features and making implementation decisions independently.

• Strong experience working with and improving existing production codebases.

• Experience with frontend refactoring, performance optimization, and maintainable component architecture.

• Good understanding of state management, API integration, forms, and frontend data handling.

• Hands-on professional experience with C# and .NET.

• Ability to create or modify backend functionality when required as part of a feature.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and frontend/backend integration.

• Good understanding of backend concepts, clean code, software architecture, and maintainability.

• Ability to independently investigate issues, communicate blockers, and drive solutions to completion.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, responsible, and organized working style.

Nice to Have

• TanStack Query, TanStack Table, TanStack Form

• Tailwind CSS

• Zustand or another state-management library

• Next.js — familiarity is helpful, but deep Next.js expertise is not required

• Playwright or similar end-to-end testing tools

• Jenkins or similar CI/CD environments

• MongoDB

• Experience working on healthcare, workflow-heavy, or other complex enterprise platforms

Working Conditions

• Full-time engagement – 40 hours/week

• Individual Contract or B2B arrangement (not employment)

• Paid Time Off provided

• Later meetings are a regular part of the engagement, including scheduled meetings in the late afternoon or early evening

• Flexibility with working hours is therefore important
