Senior Software Engineer - iOS

About Harmonic

Every day, thousands of new companies are founded. Most will never matter. A few will change everything.

Harmonic helps startups get discovered by the investors, customers, partners, and talent that will change the trajectory of their company.

We are a living, breathing record of the innovation economy. Allowing our customers to understand who matters, what’s happening, where to look next, and how to make decisions.

We're doubling revenue annually, profitable, and backed with $30M from Craft, Floodgate, Sozo Ventures, and plenty of other industry leaders. We're committed to ensuring hundreds of billions of dollars find the right founders, so the innovations that matter most flourish. If that resonates, let's talk.

About the Team

This role works directly with our Scout and Discovery teams, bringing our agentic search experience directly to the masses. You'll think about how to create world-class mobile experiences that let our end users unlock insights from our data moat in an entirely new way.

This is a founding iOS engineering role, which means you'll drive a lot of the strategy yourself, working closely with Design and Product to think about how we create cohesion between our web and mobile experiences, while still celebrating what mobile can uniquely bring to our customers.

Here's a preview of the app:

Who You Are

• You have 5+ years building and maintaining user-facing iOS applications with real production usage.

• You have clear product and design intuition, demonstrated by a history of creating user-focused iOS experiences with high craft and polish.

• You can take ambiguous problems and build real solutions for them, without needing the path laid out for you.

• You're customer obsessed. You love building products for customers and are always looking to improve their experience.

• You have strong but flexible opinions on what great iOS engineering looks like: opinionated and experienced in modern mobile architecture, patterns, and best practices, but open to having your mind changed.

• You're NYC-based and open to being in office 3 days a week.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship the iOS app from scratch. Own the end-to-end development of Harmonic's first iOS app, from project setup and architecture to shipping the initial product experience. Turn ideas into polished, production-ready features quickly.

• Create exceptional product experiences. Partner directly with Product and Design leads to craft world-class interactive experiences, leaning into AI-native chat UX and setting the quality standard for Harmonic's mobile interactions. Your work will define what "great" feels like in a native iOS app.

• Drive technical decisions and mentor future hires. As the founding iOS engineer, set the bar and help shape how mobile operates at Harmonic long-term.

• Create scalable abstractions and foundations. Set up testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, modular architecture, and reusable components and patterns that let a future mobile team move fast without breaking things.
