Senior Software Engineer II (Golang, Order)

About SpotOn

We’re not just building restaurant tech, we’re giving independent restaurants the tools to compete and win. From our award-winning point-of-sale to AI-powered profit tools, everything we do helps operators boost profit, work smarter, and keep their best people. And every solution is backed by real humans who actually give a sh*t about helping restaurants succeed.

• Named the #1 Restaurant POS by G2 (Summer 2026), based on ratings from real users

• Rated the top-rated point-of-sale (POS) for restaurants, bars, retail, and small businesses by Capterra users

• Awarded Great Places to Work and Built In’s Best Workplaces for multiple years running

We move fast, care hard, and fight for independent restaurant operators to do what they love, and love doing it. If you’re looking to make an impact with heart and hustle, SpotOn is the place for you.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Take extreme ownership: You don’t just close tickets; you own the outcome. If a feature breaks or a customer is stuck, you’re the one who sees the fix through, regardless of where the problem sits in the stack.

• Navigate real complexity: We aren’t doing simple CRUD work. You will be untangling massive systems and solving high-stakes puzzles that require creative thinking and the grit to push through frustration.

• Be a "whatever it takes" engineer: You are flexible. If the frontend lead is out or an infra fire starts, you’re ready to jump in, learn what you don't know, and clear the path for the team.

• Treat AI as a teammate: We use AI tools daily to move faster. You’ll be expected to leverage these tools to solve "impossible" problems and keep our quality bar high.

• Drive the team forward: You’ll provide technical leadership, ensuring we’re making smart decisions and addressing tech debt before it becomes a roadblock.

What skill are we searching for?

• Real-world experience: You’ve spent at least 5 to 7 years building software that survives high-traffic, production environments.

• Backend mastery: You are highly proficient in Golang and ideally also PHP.

• AI fluency: You have already integrated AI into your workflow and know how to use it to write better code and debug complex systems.

• Solid fundamentals: You have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns that allow you to build for scale.

• Strong communication: You have a solid command of English (min. B2) and are ready to collaborate in person at our Kraków or Gdańsk offices 2-3 times a week.

Perfect candidate also has:

• The "Figure it Out" gene: You actually enjoy the challenge of a problem that doesn’t have a clear answer on the first page of a search result.

• Full-stack flexibility: You aren’t afraid of React or JavaScript if that’s what’s needed to get a project across the finish line.

• Cloud and Infra comfort: You’ve spent enough time with AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes to understand how your code lives in the wild.

• A mentoring mindset: you naturally raise the bar for those around you through thoughtful code reviews and shared knowledge.

Here’s a bit about what we have to offer:

• Competitive pay: 23 800 - 29 800 PLN net on B2B.

• Training budget 3500 PLN gross per year.

• Access to e-learning platforms (O’Reilly).

• Fully paid private healthcare in LuxMed.

• Access to the Worksmile platform with a monthly top-up.

• Subsidized access to breakfast and lunch through the vending machine in Kraków office, and lunches in Gdańsk office once a week.

• Group English classes with a native speaker.

• New Macbook Pro, 4K monitors or whatever tools you need.

• Flexible working hours.

• New, modern, bright and comfortable office space in the city centre.

• Access to the company’s library.

• Great working atmosphere.

• Chill out room with a PlayStation and games.

• Free snacks and beverages in a kitchen.

• Company parties and social activities.

• Employee referral program.

• Relocation Package within Poland.
