Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack / Python / React)

If you are a high-calibre Engineer who values intellectual sparring, direct influence on solution design and seeing your ideas implemented from day one, this is your opportunity.

FastTrack: Many of us are graduates of MIMUW, Jagiellonian University and/or Staszic High School in Warsaw and are finalists of the Informatics Olympics. We find that candidates with this background usually speak our language, so if that sounds like you, there is a very good chance we will talk soon.

The StratsLab Difference: Why You should read this

We were founded in 2015 by alumni of the Warsaw University MIM Faculty, who spent years sharpening their skills at top-tier investment banks and hedge funds in London. We brought that exclusive, high-impact culture back to Warsaw.

• Developer-Driven: You will be surrounded by top-notch Developers who genuinely love to code. We prioritize writing new code over maintaining legacy systems.

• Unique Domain: You'll gain unique, marketable skills working directly in the highly specialized area of trade risk assessment what is highly challenging and intellectually rewarding.

Your role: What will you do?

• You will build apps that help portfolio managers and traders manage financial risk.

• You will visualize large amounts of data and build interfaces to interact with them such as booking trades, running risk reports or defining Monte Carlo scenarios).

• You will primarily use Python as we have a framework that under the hood creates a React app from it that runs the client side in the browser and gets you the data binding for free.

• You will be exposed to React from time to time when something needs to be extended or improved.

• You will build interfaces capable of rendering and updating thousands of data points with sub-second latency.

• You will optimize the last mile of data delivery to ensure the browser handles heavy computation smoothly.

• You will debug and optimize the full request-response lifecycle to minimize latency, working closely with backend structures.

What Makes You the Right Fit?

• You should enjoy building frontend apps as this will be your primary responsibility.

• You should enjoy seeing users use your apps in a different way than you anticipated and adjust accordingly.

• You should enjoy working in Python and Javascript/Typescript.

• Having a Computer Science / Maths / Physics degree helps as there are lots of geeky conversations over the coffee.

• You understand how NoSQL databases and caching layers (MongoDB/Redis) impact UI design and data consistency.

• You have the ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs to English-speaking stakeholders.

• You are comfortable working in a high-trust, results-oriented environment where code quality and architectural integrity are paramount.
