Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack

Global Placement Firm is conducting a confidential search for Senior Full Stack Software Engineers to join a rapidly growing AI healthcare technology company transforming the way hospitals recruit and hire clinical talent.

This is a high-ownership, backend-leaning full-stack engineering opportunity for a developer who enjoys building from the ground up, working across the entire technology stack, and seeing their work move quickly from development into production.

The ideal candidate has experience in both an early-stage, VC-backed startup and a larger technology organization, bringing strong engineering practices while maintaining the flexibility and speed required in a startup environment.

Position Overview

As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you will own and deliver greenfield projects spanning backend development, infrastructure, and frontend applications.

You'll help build and scale AI-powered products that automate the healthcare recruiting lifecycle—from candidate sourcing and screening through credentialing, hiring, and onboarding.

The platform is already handling thousands of candidate interactions each month and is being built to scale to millions. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-throughput systems, AI applications, distributed infrastructure, and user-facing products while working closely with engineering leadership and the founding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver greenfield software projects across the full technology stack.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services, infrastructure, and frontend applications.
• Develop scalable systems capable of supporting growth from thousands to millions of candidate interactions.
• Build end-to-end features in a TypeScript-first development environment.
• Work extensively with serverless AWS infrastructure and modern cloud technologies.
• Develop and scale high-throughput and distributed systems designed for reliability and performance.
• Build and deploy AI-powered applications, including systems leveraging LLMs and machine learning technologies.
• Establish and improve observability, monitoring, reliability, and production engineering practices.
• Collaborate directly with the Director of Engineering and founding team on product architecture and technical strategy.
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy and take ownership of projects from concept through production.
• Help establish engineering standards, development practices, and technical culture as an early member of the engineering organization.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs and make pragmatic decisions in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Continuously improve existing systems as the platform scales and product requirements evolve.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in Python and modern software engineering principles.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript across the stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Experience building and scaling high-throughput and distributed systems in production.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, reliability, and mission-critical systems.
• At least 2 years of experience working at an early-stage, VC-backed startup.
• Experience working at a larger technology company, major technology organization, or highly regarded technology startup.
• Experience building and deploying AI applications, including LLM-powered products, AI agents, or machine learning pipelines.
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS and serverless architectures.
• Experience taking products from initial concept through production deployment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.

Technical Environment

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with:

• TypeScript
• React / modern frontend development
• Python
• AWS
• Serverless architecture
• Distributed systems
• High-throughput backend services
• Infrastructure and deployment
• Observability and monitoring
• AI/LLM applications
• Machine learning pipelines
• Production-scale software systems

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a high-performing, hands-on senior engineer who wants significant ownership and enjoys building new products in a fast-moving environment.

You should be comfortable moving between frontend, backend, infrastructure, and architecture rather than operating exclusively within one technical specialty.

You should also be someone who can bring the engineering discipline of a larger technology organization into an early-stage startup without becoming overly rigid or process-dependent.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Is passionate about building products from scratch.
• Takes ownership of business and technical outcomes.
• Moves quickly while maintaining strong engineering standards.
• Is comfortable working across the full technology stack.
• Has experience scaling systems in real production environments.
• Understands the challenges of high-throughput and distributed systems.
• Is excited about AI and has hands-on experience deploying AI-powered applications.
• Works well with founders and senior technical leadership.
• Has strong technical judgment and can make decisions independently.
• Has a low-ego approach to engineering and is willing to change direction when presented with better information.
• Thrives in an environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
• Wants to see their work directly impact the business.

Work Environment

This is a high-velocity, early-stage technology environment where engineers have significant influence over the product, architecture, and engineering culture.

The successful candidate will work closely with the founding team and engineering leadership and will have short feedback loops between development, deployment, and real-world customer usage.

Engineers are expected to be highly collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable taking ownership beyond narrowly defined technical assignments.

Why Join

This is an opportunity to join a rapidly scaling AI healthcare company that is using autonomous AI technology to modernize healthcare recruiting.

The platform is designed to automate significant portions of the recruiting lifecycle while helping hospitals and health systems fill critical clinical positions more efficiently.

As an early member of a growing engineering organization, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build greenfield AI-powered products from the ground up.
• Work on systems scaling from thousands toward millions of interactions.
• Help shape the technical architecture of a rapidly growing platform.
• Work directly with founders and senior engineering leadership.
• Build production AI applications with real-world impact.
• Influence engineering standards and technical culture.
• Take ownership of projects that directly affect business outcomes.
• Work at the intersection of AI, healthcare, automation, and enterprise software.

Candidate Profile: What We're Not Looking For

This opportunity is best suited for engineers with both startup experience and strong technical foundations.

Candidates may not be the right fit if their experience consists primarily of:

• Multiple large technology companies without meaningful startup experience.
• Remaining at an entry-level engineering position for an extended period without demonstrated growth.
• Highly specialized roles with little or no full-stack experience.
• A reluctance to work across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and product development.
• Limited experience working in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
