About the Company
Our client is a venture-backed healthcare AI company using generative AI to transform clinical documentation for home health providers — replacing slow, legacy software with tools that cut hours of daily administrative work down to minutes. Their technology is already adopted across hundreds of home health agencies serving tens of thousands of patients, and they're now expanding into a broader, AI-native platform.
Founded 2023 · Small Team · Industry: Healthcare, AI
The Role
You'd join a small, lean engineering team as a core, backend-leaning full-stack engineer with real ownership — scaling widely used production services and building new LLM- and generative-AI-driven workflows.
What you'll be doing
- Build and ship complex backend services and infrastructure that interface with LLMs and generative AI models
- Own zero-to-one projects end to end, from MVP prototypes to hardened, scalable, secure production systems
- Help scale existing, widely adopted products as they roll out to more organizations
- Improve backend architecture, observability, and code quality
- Work within a flat engineering structure, directly alongside other engineers and the CTO
Tech stack: Python backend; production LLM / generative AI systems
Requirements
- 5–10 years in backend-leaning full-stack software engineering
- Hands-on experience at an early-stage startup (pre-seed through Series B)
- Strong, demonstrable technical depth — someone who ships quickly and can clearly explain their own code
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development
- A clear track record of excellence (for example, a top-tier university, a high-growth startup, leadership roles, or standout technical involvement)
- Strong communication skills and a high degree of ownership
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (US citizen or green card holder)
Nice to Haves
- Experience with, or genuine interest in, healthcare or health-tech AI
- Experience building with production LLMs or generative AI
Why Join
- Work on the leading AI documentation product in home health, already saving clinicians hours every day
- Ship new generative AI capabilities into real clinical workflows on a weekly basis
- High ownership on a small, flat team building core systems that thousands of clinicians rely on
