As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Design and deliver scalable and secure backend systems, from architecture to production.
• Drive engineering excellence through a focus on code quality, system reliability, observability, and performance.
• Collaborate with product and engineering peers to align technical decisions with business outcomes.
• Take end-to-end ownership of systems, embracing the "You build it, you run it" philosophy from design to deployment and operations.
• Contribute to and guide architectural decisions and the long-term technical strategy within your team.

We'd love to see

Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities and scope of role will range. We don’t care much about fancy titles, but rather about real personal and professional development, as laid out in our learning framework. Let’s figure together out how you can contribute to our team.

• Proven experience building scalable products with Java or Golang.
• Strong experience building and operating cloud-native applications on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong experience building and operating distributed systems, with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• A solid understanding of security best practices for backend and cloud-based services.
• Demonstrated ownership of complex systems, with a mindset for operational excellence.
• The ability to drive cross-functional initiatives while balancing technical and product priorities.
• A thoughtful communicator and problem-solver, capable of aligning engineering efforts with business goals.
• Comfortable working with AI tools, thinking critically about AI outputs, and contributing to a culture of responsible AI use. We expect you to demonstrate comfort with AI-assisted workflows and a willingness to continuously develop their AI capabilities as the technology evolves.

• Monthly meal allowance.
• Deutschland ticket subsidy.
• 28 vacation days, increasing by 2 days after 2 years and 3 days after 3 years with Solaris.
• Opportunity to work abroad for up to 12 weeks per year.
