About the Team
The Engineering Productivity team is what makes Starburst's engineering organization move fast without breaking things. We own the tooling, processes, and infrastructure that let every other engineering team ship confidently, operate reliably, and spend company resources wisely — so they can focus on building product rather than fighting their environment.
Our remit spans five core areas:
- CI/CD — We build and maintain the pipelines and developer tooling that take code from commit to production, focusing on speed, reliability, and a frictionless developer experience.
- Reliability & Incident Response — We drive how the organization detects, responds to, and learns from production incidents, helping teams build more resilient systems and continuously improve our operational maturity.
- FinOps — We bring visibility and discipline to cloud spend, partnering with engineering teams to optimize cost without slowing down innovation.
- Vendor Management — We own the relationships and processes behind the third-party tools and services engineering relies on, ensuring we get the right tools at the right terms.
- Cloud Governance — We set the guardrails, standards, and policies that keep our multi-cloud footprint secure, compliant, and well-architected as the company scales.
If you're excited about building the platform behind the platform — the systems and practices that multiply the impact of every other engineer at Starburst — this is the team for you.
