Senior backend/full-stack engineer joining F-Secure's small, autonomous New Products and Innovations team in Helsinki to build scam-protection tech: Node.js services and AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), AI/third-party API integrations, taking features from prototype to production. On-site at Helsinki HQ 3-5 days/week.
For over 35 years, F-Secure has led the cybersecurity industry with our 200+ service provider partners. As the home of scam protection, we're reimagining how we protect people from modern threats through cutting-edge scam detection and solutions that are setting the industry standard. We bring together the sharpest minds of cyber security with a shared purpose: to protect people from modern threats. Here, you’ll have a real impact, making every digital moment more secure for everyone. You’ll thrive and grow in our Fellowship culture, where we dream big, trust, and challenge each other to deliver results and move with speed. You’ll be welcomed into a diverse, global team with an informal and collaborative culture where your voice truly matters.
Join us in securing the digital world together – where your work will make a lasting impact.
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend/Full-Stack) to join our forward-leaning innovation team within F-Secure's product organization. Our mission is to safeguard consumers against scams while delivering an exceptional user experience that sets the industry standard for protection and usability.
We're big believers in solving problems together, having designers, devs, and product folks all working in the same room, no red tape, no extra approval layers. We own our product and make decisions as a team every day to solve real customer problems, end to end. That's why our innovation team is working on-site at our Helsinki HQ typically 3-5 days a week, and hope that you would be ready for that too. Hours are flexible, dress code is non-existent, and yes, the fully equipped gym and rooftop sauna are as good as they sounds. Check it out here!
F-Secure's New Products and Innovations team is leveraging F-Secure's proven security technologies while pioneering new consumer experiences, tools, and product concepts.
The team is small by design: a cross-functional unit of engineers, designers, and product thinkers with autonomy to explore, prototype, and deliver at startup speed. Everyone is hands-on, there are no management layers, no one on the sidelines. We all ship, contribute directly to the product, and own outcomes together. We cut through bureaucracy, make decisions fast, and focus relentlessly on what matters most: building consumer experiences that feel intuitive, human, and trustworthy.
Scams have become an industrial-scale problem run by sophisticated criminals, and for ordinary people, even experts, it's getting harder to tell what's real. We're building something that restores confidence, trust and peace of mind, replacing fear, confusion, and shame with clarity, protection, and support. Every feature we ship can help someone avoid losing their savings or recover from an attack. That real-world human impact is what drives us.
We aim for MLP — Minimum Lovable Product — not just viable. Every prototype must earn its place in consumers’ hands by solving a real problem beautifully.
Our estimated salary range for this role is 5,500 - 6,500 EUR/month, based on your experience and skills.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be part of a small team owning everything from prototype to production. You'll design, build, and evolve the backend systems and APIs that power our product, from Node.js services and AWS infrastructure to integrations with AI models, third-party services, and optimizing performance and scalability. Your work will touch millions of consumers and directly shape the evolution of our product concept: a seamless "safety net" that helps people prevent, protect, and recover from scams with confidence.
We’re not looking for someone to maintain existing systems — we’re looking for a builder. Someone who thrives on turning uncertainty into clarity, prototypes into production, and ideas into impact.
This is a rare opportunity: the resources and reach of F-Secure, combined with the autonomy and pace of a startup. You’ll join early enough to influence how we work, what we build, and the culture we create.
Within your first 6–12 months, you'll ship features used by millions of people and shape the direction of a product designed to protect them from real harm.
Our hiring process will consist of three interview rounds: introduction interview, team interview, and final interview. Our aim is to move quickly through the steps and inform each candidate in a timely manner whether they will proceed in the process.
Our benefits include extensive health care, remote working, company supported sport activities, lunch vouchers, regular massages and sauna at the Finland office premises and many more things to keep our best asset – people - happy!
A security vetting will possibly be conducted for the selected candidate in accordance to our employment process.
