Contract senior backend engineer at Westpac NZ's Cards and Consumer Finance team, replacing a critical legacy system from scratch with a modern stack. Day-to-day involves designing, building, testing and maintaining Java/Spring Boot services with Kafka and IBM MQ, plus CI/CD and automated testing.

Join Westpac NZ as a Senior Backend Developer in our Product Engineering – Cards and Consumer Finance team. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using backend technologies. You’ll replace a critical legacy system with modern tech stack starting from scratch.
