Build and own backend-heavy full-stack software for Archer's airline operations platform — database schemas, API architecture, orchestration services, and productized ML features supporting its electric aircraft's logistics, routing, and dispatch. Stack includes NextJS/React, Python/FastAPI, and Postgres; hybrid role requiring 10 days/month in San Jose.
Headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, Archer is a leader in the next-gen aerospace sector building an end-to-end advanced air mobility platform that delivers air taxis, unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), aviation-related physical artificial intelligence (“AI”) solutions, and other technologies to customers worldwide across the commercial aerospace and defense sectors.
Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.
This is a hybrid role, requiring in-person work at our San Jose, CA headquarters 10 days per month.
Archer is on a mission to not only unlock the skies with our aircraft Midnight, but with the entire software fabric that goes into running a large, sophisticated airline operation. We are looking for 0 to 1 Software Engineers to join an elite team that is building out Archer’s Airline Operations Software Ecosystem. This role enables you to be one of a few people to craft the future of urban air mobility by building agentic software that powers it. The products you will be building in this role will be integral for Archer’s LA2028 Olympics operation and to support the logistics, routing, performance, and dispatch of our aircraft for decades to come.
We're looking for someone who can own a product end-to-end, from frontend to backend to deployment, while bringing strong backend depth to help guide the team's architecture decisions. Engineers who have built and shipped multiple products across disciplines and languages are encouraged to apply.
Archer’s Airline Software team operates with Startup DNA and as such, we are looking for engineers who thrive in an autonomous environment where you will be encouraged to make product, design, and architecture decisions. The Airline Software Team is by design lean to provide engineers with career defining opportunities to design and scale an application that will touch millions of passengers a year.
