ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
Semiconductor Fab Solutions (SFS) develops electron microscopy solutions for quality control in the semiconductor industry.

Ihre Rolle
- As part of an interdisciplinary development team at Carl Zeiss MultiSEM GmbH, you will develop software applications for highly complex electron beam systems used to manufacture defect-free photomasks for chip production in the semiconductor industry (concept, design, development, implementation, testing, documentation)
- You will play a leading role in shaping the overall strategic concept for controlling the electron beam column, coordinate efforts across locations, and develop a long-term plan
- As an expert in your field, you will advise other departments, product managers, and engineers on the software applications and, as needed, conduct training sessions on how to use the software systems
- You will work closely with project and product managers to help shape the product backlog related to software, define work packages, and implement them within an agile process
Your Profile
- An excellent college degree (Master’s/Diploma) in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
- Excellent knowledge of object-oriented programming in .NET/C# and Visual Studio/Azure DevOps, and ideally good knowledge of one or more of the following areas: ASP.NET, gRPC, implementation of image processing algorithms, communication models/protocols, and database and client-server applications
- Excellent knowledge of software architecture design, hands-on experience with refactoring and maintaining industrial codebases, and familiarity with TDD, SOLID principles and design patterns, and architectural patterns such as Clean Architecture or Hexagonal Architecture
- Ideally, strong knowledge of Windows and Linux, including Docker and container orchestration, as well as experience with microservice architectures and database technologies
- A deep understanding of controlling complex machines and integrating electronic components; knowledge of low-level software development on Windows in C++ and C++/CLI, using interfaces such as TCP/IP, Automation Device Specification (ADS), and CAN, is a plus
- Ideally, experience in the production-level use of AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex), as well as the ability to further develop existing development processes with a focus on automation, efficiency, and quality
- A structured, independent, and goal-oriented approach to work; a quick grasp of new concepts; good communication skills; a strong willingness to learn and work hard; excellent team spirit; and very good written and spoken German and English skills
