Senior React Developer

Who We Are:

Every industry has a moment when technology finally catches up to the people doing the work.

We are building that moment for legal.

Neostella creates connected legal technology that brings together the data, workflows, and systems legal teams rely on every day.

Our platform helps firms move faster, collaborate more effectively, and focus on delivering stronger outcomes for their clients.

We believe the legal industry deserves more from its technology. That belief drives us to challenge the status quo and build systems designed for the way modern teams actually work.

We build with courage and measure our work by the impact it creates for our customers.

Recognized as one of Forbes’ Best Startup Employers in the Americas for 2026, we are growing with people who want their work to matter.

If you want to build software that changes how an industry operates, you belong here. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Senior React Developer to join our team!

Why this role matters right now:

Neostella is scaling rapidly, and as our platform evolves, delivering seamless, high-quality frontend experiences is more important than ever. Our applications are a critical touchpoint for customers, and the way they interact with our products directly impacts adoption, satisfaction, and long-term success.

This role exists because we need strong frontend engineers who can not only build performant, scalable interfaces but also help elevate the quality and consistency of our frontend architecture. The Senior React Developer will play a key role in shaping how our applications look, feel, and function—while mentoring other developers and driving best practices across the team.

Your work will directly influence user experience, product usability, and the speed at which we can deliver new features to market.

What you’ll manage:

We’re looking for a Senior React Developer who will lead the development of modern, responsive web applications while supporting the growth and effectiveness of the frontend team.

You will take ownership of complex features from concept through delivery—translating requirements, designs, and business needs into scalable, maintainable frontend solutions. This includes building reusable components, optimizing performance, and ensuring consistency across the application.

In addition to hands-on development, you’ll mentor junior and mid-level developers, participate in architectural decisions, and serve as a key resource for solving complex technical challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality, user-centric experiences.

What you bring:

We’re looking for a developer who combines strong frontend expertise with leadership and ownership. You have a deep understanding of React and modern JavaScript, and you take pride in building clean, efficient, and scalable user interfaces.

You’re someone who thinks beyond individual tasks—you understand how components fit into the broader system and proactively improve performance, usability, and maintainability. You enjoy mentoring others, contributing to team growth, and driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, communicate clearly, and are comfortable balancing hands-on coding with technical leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of high-quality, scalable features while mentoring junior and mid-level developers and ensuring adherence to SDLC standards and best practices.
• Own code quality through solution design participation, rigorous testing, integration validation, and comprehensive code reviews.
• Serve as the technical escalation point, resolving complex issues and unblocking the team to keep projects on track.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication on progress, risks, and timelines through stand-ups, Jira, and Slack.
• Take full ownership of assigned features, delivering release-ready work on time with a deep understanding of application architecture and dependencies.
• Drive continuous improvement through process, design, and documentation enhancements, contributing to long-term scalability and team effectiveness.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend software development.
• Strong experience with React (especially with hooks) and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, or strong desire and ability to learn it quickly.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern responsive web design principles.
• Familiarity with Material UI or similar component libraries.
• Basic knowledge of state management approaches (e.g., Context API, Redux) and frontend performance optimization.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Exposure to or experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proficient in written and spoken English (CEFR C1 or equivalent).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively across teams and functions.

Technical Environment:

• Languages & Frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Material UI
• Tools: GitHub, Jira, Sentry
• Cloud: AWS Amplify
