Senior QA Engineer - Mobile

Waracle are looking for a Senior QA for an exciting new role joining our world-class digital technology consultancy and home to a diverse, smart, curious and ambitious community of specialists in technology-driven transformation.

We work with ambitious clients to help them solve their biggest business and customer challenges. We help our clients to innovate and create intelligent digital products and services. We thrive on complex challenges and deliver business-critical IT transformation projects, moving seamlessly from strategy, design and delivery to operations.

This is a Hybrid role working from our London office 2 days a week.

Are you a quality champion who thrives on collaboration, technical excellence and automation engineering? We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer who combines strong software engineering and test automation skills with a passion for building scalable, reliable and maintainable quality solutions across mobile and API platforms.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping automation frameworks, improving continuous testing capabilities and embedding quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering teams across mobile, backend, DevOps and security to deliver reliable, scalable and high-quality digital products.

At Waracle, we believe that diverse perspectives drive the best innovations, and we’re looking for a thoughtful technical mentor to help our teams grow while ensuring we deliver seamless, high-quality experiences for our users.

Key aspects of the role include

• Strategy & Framework Architecture: Co-design and evolve scalable automation frameworks for mobile apps (iOS/Android) and APIs, integrating automated checks into CI/CD pipelines.

• Quality & NFR Integration: Embed quality early in the delivery lifecycle, incorporating test data management, mobile security principles, accessibility, and performance checks across core user journeys.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with developers, DevOps, and security teams to enhance system testability, troubleshoot root causes, and build sustainable quality processes together.

• Standards & Ownership: Define and refine test automation best practices, continuous testing approaches, and tooling to ensure high-performing, reliable digital products.

• Mentorship & Team Growth: Support and empower fellow QA engineers through constructive code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and supportive technical coaching.

Research shows that underrepresented groups tend to only apply for roles that they believe they meet 100% of the criteria for. At Waracle, we want to buck that trend! We hire for passion, potential and mindset as much as credentials. If you think you'd be incredible in the role, then apply - even if you don't think you tick every box.

What you'll bring

• Solid Quality Engineering Experience: Extensive experience in software quality engineering and test automation, with strong hands-on experience testing and automating mobile applications across iOS and Android, as well as APIs.

• Automation & Coding Skills: Strong hands-on software engineering and object-oriented programming skills in Java, TypeScript and/or Python, with experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks for mobile applications and APIs.

• Mobile Automation: Demonstrable hands-on experience automating mobile applications across Android and iOS using frameworks such as Appium, Espresso and/or XCUITest
