Senior Project Manager (remote, Canada) leading AI enablement projects for a public sector organization — spanning enterprise AI licensing, Azure/M365/Google Cloud integration, security and privacy governance, and training/adoption. Day to day: managing schedules, vendors, pilots, UAT and executive reporting.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a public sector organization's artificial intelligence delivery and enablement initiative. This role leads and coordinates AI enablement projects across enterprise licensing, cloud platform integration, governance and security, and training and adoption. The ideal candidate will drive the rollout of enterprise AI tools, manage complex cloud and integration work, ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements, and support ministry-wide adoption of AI capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to shape how a large public sector organization responsibly adopts and scales artificial intelligence across multiple departments.
This position requires someone who can manage multiple concurrent projects with shifting priorities and dependencies to support the delivery of enterprise AI services. The role spans four interconnected work streams: planning and delivering enterprise AI license allocation and lifecycle management across ministries; designing and implementing cloud platform and integration work that AI services depend on; coordinating security, privacy and governance assessments to ensure capabilities meet all requirements before release; and planning training, adoption and change management so that AI tools are used safely and effectively. Responsibilities include developing project charters and business plans, managing schedules and resource allocation, coordinating with vendors and delivery partners, leading User Acceptance Testing and release-readiness reviews, developing user guidance and support pathways, managing pilots from intake through to enterprise enablement recommendations, and producing deliverables for executive and ministerial audiences. This role requires working knowledge of enterprise IT and cloud environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure and Google Cloud services, SaaS licensing and tenant administration, identity and access management, and generative and agentic AI concepts. The resource will report to the Executive Director and may support multiple directors and sponsors simultaneously, requiring strong priority management and the ability to function independently and collaboratively.
