Senior Project Manager, Data Center Design & Construction

Senior Project Manager, Data Center Design & Construction

Location: Remote, Nationwide

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of sophisticated data center developments across the United States. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technically demanding, high-value projects where power availability, cooling infrastructure, connectivity, equipment lead times, and speed to market are critical to success. The right leader will influence projects from early planning through final commissioning, working across engineering, construction, utility, telecom, and vendor teams to turn complex infrastructure requirements into successful operating facilities.

This Role Offers:

• Competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
• Remote flexibility with responsibility for projects across the United States.
• High visibility role supporting complex, capital-intensive data center developments.
• Opportunity to influence major technical, procurement, schedule, and construction decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborative environment that values independent decision-making, accountability, and practical problem solving.

Focus:

• Own the full delivery lifecycle for complex data center projects, from early planning and design coordination through construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Coordinate utility power strategies, including capacity planning, high-voltage service requirements, interconnection milestones, easements, and supporting site infrastructure.
• Direct multidisciplinary design partners and construction teams to keep technical decisions aligned with cost, schedule, constructability, and operational requirements.
• Lead fiber and carrier coordination, including route diversity, site entry planning, provider interfaces, and readiness milestones.
• Build and manage procurement plans for long-lead electrical and mechanical equipment, identifying schedule exposure early and driving mitigation actions.
• Maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and executive-level reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performance, resolve delivery constraints, and coordinate testing, staging, and commissioning activities.
• Evaluate emerging project risks and delivery alternatives, then communicate practical recommendations that protect key milestones and investment objectives.

Skill Set:

• 7+ years of dedicated project management experience in data center design, mission-critical facilities, or heavy industrial construction.
• Deep working knowledge of high-voltage electrical distribution, complex HVAC and chilled-water systems, and utility grid interconnections.
• Proven experience managing fiber-optic infrastructure buildouts, carrier coordination, and diverse pathway requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to forecast, procure, and track long-lead MEP equipment while supporting aggressive construction schedules.
• Experience leading projects across design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and final turnover.
• Strong command of project controls, including schedule management, budgeting, risk tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Clear, decisive communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across owners, designers, contractors, utilities, carriers, and equipment vendors.
