BUSUP
BUSUP is a global corporate mobility company helping organizations rethink how their people get to work. Through a technology-driven, asset-light model, we combine data, AI-powered route optimization, operational expertise, and a trusted network of local transport operators to make employee commuting more efficient, flexible, and sustainable.
We partner with large companies across Europe, Latin America, and North America to design, manage, and continuously improve shared mobility solutions that reduce costs, lower emissions, and create a better commuting experience for employees. At BUSUP, we believe the future of corporate mobility is smarter, more connected, and built around people, helping companies move their teams with greater efficiency, visibility, and impact.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a senior, proactive and decisive Product Owner with strong experience in discovery and validation, capable of working autonomously in environments of great uncertainty and constant change.
This person will lead the definition and validation of new product initiatives from the earliest stages — identifying problems, validating hypotheses with users and stakeholders, and turning insights into clear, actionable product decisions — while also managing the backlog and ensuring execution aligns with business objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Discovery & Validation
Lead discovery processes to identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities.
Design and run validation techniques (user interviews, prototypes, A/B testing, focus groups) to test hypotheses before development.
Translate discovery findings into clear problem statements and product opportunities.
Ensure decisions are backed by data and qualitative/quantitative research, not assumptions.
2. Requirement Definition & Management
Analyze and refine BusUp initial project definitions, breaking them down into detailed functional and technical requirements.
Create and prioritize the Product Backlog in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Write User Stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation.
Ensure all requirements are clear, feasible, and aligned with BusUp vision.
3. Development & Execution Management
Act as the primary point of contact between BusUp and development teams (internal and/or external).
Define and coordinate sprints or delivery phases, ensuring objectives are met on time.
Oversee project planning and execution, resolving blockers and facilitating key decisions.
Monitor progress, risks, and deviations from the product roadmap.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and acceptance criteria.
4. Communication & Reporting
Provide regular project updates to BusUp stakeholders.
Coordinate follow-up meetings (daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, etc.).
Manage expectations and maintain transparency in product/project evolution.
5. Validation & Delivery
Coordinate and validate functional testing with QA and stakeholders.
Ensure the final product meets validated user needs and defined requirements before delivery.
Facilitate proper knowledge transfer for future maintenance and scalability.
5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager in software/tech products, with a senior-level track record.
Solid, hands-on experience leading discovery and validation processes (not just backlog/delivery management).
Experience managing development teams (internal and/or external).
Background in mobility, transportation, or SaaS (preferred).
Strong expertise in discovery techniques: user research, interviews, prototyping, hypothesis validation.
Ability to translate ambiguous, high-level problems into validated, detailed requirements.
Experience managing roadmaps and backlogs in tools like Jira, Trello, or similar.
Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall when applicable.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working across cultures/time zones.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick, autonomous decisions in dynamic environments.
Experience in UX/UI collaboration.
Experience in A/B testing and focus groups.
Experience as a programmer.
Computer science degree or similar.
Analytics tools experience.
Firebase.
Fluent in Portuguese (Brazil) and English (both mandatory).
Spanish is nice to have.
Opportunity to lead strategic, high-impact discovery initiatives at BusUp.
Flexible work arrangements.
Senior-level ownership over product decisions with real impact on sustainable mobility.
