The Science Centre Board (SCB) IT and Innovation Department drives digital transformation to enhance how people experience science. We design and deliver digital platforms that power visitor experiences and enable SCB stakeholders with the insights and tools needed to operate effectively. By combining technology, data and product thinking, we create engaging digital experiences and data-driven capabilities that strengthen science education, enhance visitor engagement and support better decision making across the organisation. [What you will be working on]

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the development of visitor-facing digital products at Science Centre Board. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from problem discovery and solution design through to delivery, optimisation, and continuous improvement. Working closely with business stakeholders, designers, and technology vendors, you will shape and deliver digital products that enhance on-site visitor engagement and deepen the learning experience.

Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Science Centre Board stakeholders to align product direction with organisational priorities.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the product squad and senior leadership, providing updates on product strategy, progress and outcomes.

Product Strategy, Ownership and Leadership

• Define and drive a clear product vision and strategy aligned with Science Centre Board’s organisational goals.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the product, from problem discovery and solution design to delivery, optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Own product outcomes by ensuring the product delivers measurable value to users and supports Science Centre Board’s strategic objectives.
• Lead product squad(s) to deliver on the product vision and drive its adoption.

Product Discovery

• Conduct visitor research, competitor benchmarking and stakeholder workshops to uncover high-value problems and opportunities worth solving.
• Evaluate and prioritise potential solutions based on user value, technical feasibility and strategic alignment, and recommend the best options to SCB stakeholders.

Product Validation

• Lead proof of concept and proof of value initiatives to validate product ideas, assess technical feasibility and demonstrate business value.
• Prepare product concept papers that articulate the problem, proposed solution, targeted success metrics and funding justification.

Product Development

• Lead product squad(s) comprising business stakeholders, designer and outsourced vendors to deliver digital products from concept through launch and post-launch optimisation.
• Own and maintain the product roadmap, prioritising features based on strategic value, user impact and technical feasibility.
• Work with procurement and business stakeholders to define technical requirements, prepare tender specifications and manage tender evaluation processes.
• Manage outsourced vendors to ensure delivery meets contractual requirements, technical standards and committed timelines.
• Apply agile product delivery practices to support iterative development, rapid feedback and continuous improvement.
• Review technical designs and oversee all testing, including integration, performance and security testing, to ensure compliance with best practices and government standards.
• Ensure product quality through rigorous user acceptance testing and release governance.
• Identify and manage risks across technical, operational and business domains.

Product Optimisation

• Define product success metrics and leverage analytics to measure product performance and drive data-informed product decisions.
• Monitor user behaviour, feedback and operational data to identify opportunities for product improvement.
• Drive continuous product enhancements through feature iterations, experimentation, performance improvements and bug fixes.

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure products comply with government security, technical and performance standards.
• Manage governance processes including audits, risk assessments and regulatory compliance requirements.

[What we are looking for]

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience delivering digital products, including 5 years in product management role.
• Proven track record of shipping successful digital products from conception to launch, preferably in public sector context.
• Experience working with outsourced technology vendors and managing vendor-led product development.
• Experience delivering visitor-facing digital products or mobile applications is preferred.
• Experience applying Agile product delivery, service design and user-centred design practices in digital product development.
• Experience working in complex stakeholder environments, preferably within the public sector or large organisations.
• Strong product ownership mindset with full accountability for product outcomes and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of digital technologies and system integrations, with the ability to assess technical approaches and challenge vendors to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Excellence in stakeholder and squad team management, with proven ability to manage expectations and resolve conflicts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insights to guide product decisions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, designers and vendors.
