Senior Product Manager owning Coder Agents—an AI coding agent product—from incubation through scale, working across engineering, design, and go-to-market teams with a stack including Go, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, and GCP.
Coder is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own Coder Agents. You'll take an incubated, fast-moving product and give it a scaled strategy. Usage is expanding beyond enterprise developers to citizen developers and other new personas.
You'll define vision and strategy where it's still nascent, then bring enough structure to scale without slowing momentum. You'll partner closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to ship and measure impact. We're running lean on process by design - expect to build judgment, not bureaucracy.
What you’ll do here
Own the full product lifecycle for Coder Agents - from incubating ideas through GA and into ongoing scale.
Define and evolve product vision and strategy for Agents, synthesizing customer, market, and business signals into a clear roadmap.
Identify and validate opportunities for Agents to reach new personas, from enterprise developers to citizen developers.
Research customer problems through direct engagement with enterprise accounts, community feedback, and ecosystem analysis.
Bring just enough structure to move fast without losing rigor - strong problem statements, crisp requirements, clear execution.
Lead high-stakes customer conversations, including executive roadmap reviews, product demos, and enterprise stakeholder discussions.
Shape licensing, packaging, and pricing decisions that support Agents' path to sustainable growth.
Mentor and support other PMs through senior-level product leadership, coaching, and sharing best practices
What we’re looking for
5+ years of experience building software products end-to-end, with clear customer and business outcomes.
Deep understanding of the AI/agentic market - you know the players, the trends, and where enterprise adoption is headed.
Proven experience taking a product from GA, setting direction where little exists yet.
Proven ability to operate independently and set the agenda with minimal oversight.
Experience building for enterprise customers - complex adoption cycles, compliance requirements, procurement, and multi-stakeholder buying.
A strong technical foundation that lets you collaborate credibly with engineers and make informed trade-offs.
Judgment to bring just enough process to scale a fast-moving product without slowing it down.
Willingness to travel occasionally for customer and industry engagements.
Our tech stack
Backend: Go, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC
Frontend: TypeScript, React, Vite
IDE Extensions: TypeScript, Kotlin
Observability: Prometheus, Grafana
CI/CD: GitHub Actions
General: GitHub, Slack, Discord, Notion
Bonus tacos if you have

Experience with pricing strategy, licensing models, onboarding funnels, or open-core business models.
Experience across both startup and larger-scale organizations.
Comfort representing Coder externally through talks, writing, or other public channels.
Deep familiarity with the developer tools ecosystem, with strong opinions of your own.
Coder is an AI software development company leading the future of autonomous coding. We empower teams to build software faster, more securely, and at scale through the collaboration of AI coding agents and human developers. Our mission is to make agentic AI a safe, trusted, and integral part of every software development lifecycle.
Our self-hosted AI Development Environment is the foundation for deploying agentic AI in the enterprise. It provides a secure, standardized, and governed workspace to deploy autonomous coding agents alongside human developers, accelerating innovation while maintaining control and compliance. Coder's isolated, policy-driven environments improve productivity, cut cloud costs, and reduce data risks. Developers transition to AI at their own pace using their own tools. Platform and security teams can govern, audit, and manage a great developer experience at scale.

All hiring decisions are made by humans. Our team reviews applications, conducts interviews, and makes final selections. AI tools assist us but never replace human judgment, and these practices are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection, AI governance, and labor laws.
